Kia Asamiya to be Guest at Otakon 2023

Washington, D.C. (June 22, 2023) – Manga artist, animator and illustrator Kia Asamiya will be a guest at Otakon 2023, according to Otakorp Inc.

Asamiya made his debut in 1986 with “Shin Seiki Vagrants” in "Monthly Comptique." He went on to create the hit series “Silent Möbius,” which has since been adapted into an anime series, movie, novels, and games. In addition to his manga and illustration work, he has been involved in planning and production of his adaptations with Studio TRON, including works such as “Compiler,” “Steam Detectives,” and “My Favorite Carrera.”

He is also the first Japanese artist to work in the U.S. on “Uncanny X-Men,” among other Marvel Comics. His other works include “Batman: Child of Dreams” for DC Comics, “Phoenix Resurrection: Dark Angel” for Image Comics, and “Star Wars Tales” and “Hellboy” for Dark Horse Comics.

Kia is continuing to expand his work not only in Japan and Asia but also throughout the U.S. and Europe, as well. Currently, he is working on “That's my Space Opera” for "Young King Ours" and “My Favorite Carrera GT3” for "LEED Cafe."

Otakon 2023 will be held from July 28 to July 30 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
