Plot Summary:
Katri is a young country girl who lives in Finland during the First World War. Katri's mother has gone off to Germany and Katri is left to live with her grandparents. The young but diligent girl manages daily tasks of her grandparents' property and, despite her young age, soon gets to work for a local farmer as a herd. There she makes friends with the two boys of the neighbourhood.

Jazz music is much the stars as the main cast in this story about teens who become friends in late 1960s Japan. Great sounds and good character development bolster what is otherwise a fairly pedestrian character drama.
The Twelve Kingdoms DVD 10The series comes to an end with a short story arc even as it regains its stellar level of artistry. Will there be more? We can only hope.
