I was there, mainly to buy more robot toys. In other words, I spent most of my time in the vendors hall. As expected, tons of people who didn't pre-register showed up to register in the morning and most had to be turned away - they simply didn't plan for this many to show up. This is only my second convention, the first being Anime Expo 2004 (I plan on going this year too). Compared to that, it was obviously much smaller, but very active. They'll probably have more space next year due to this time's complete fill up, which'll be nice.
I guess I don't really have much to say, since I spent most of my time buying crap with money I probably shouldn't have wasted (but hey, robots toys are NEVER a waste! NEVER!) and eating, and didn't go to any of the panels and such. The selection of anime showing was kind of "eh" for my tastes, though that's just me and I'm sure they'll have more screening rooms next time. This year, the second of the two screening rooms was actually just a regular, tiny hotel room. Stuffy, to say the least. |
