Happy Hearts and Hooves Day, everypony! I was going to go for a romance theme in the specials today to match our front page, but would you believe every anime has a romantic plot or subplot? It's true! Even One Piece has Boa Hancock's very-relevant-to-the-plot crush on Luffy. If you can come up with an exception, I'd love to know what it is.

It never rains but it pours. After getting my Natsume figures last week, today I got Tidus and Lightning from the Trading Arts Mini line. First order of business: putting Squall on the Chocobo body, because that seems like the sort of thing that would annoy him and therefore amuse me.

New Canadian Shipping Policy
Attention Canadians! Since paying fees and taxes on your purchases when they show up at your door isn't any fun, our benevolent Dark Lord has braved the Canadian Post Bureaucracy to make buying anime goodies from north of the border a simpler - and cheaper! - process.

From now on, all Canadian orders will show a surcharge at checkout called the Canadian Service Fee. This surcharge covers all taxes, duties, customs, and processing fees previously collected by Canadian Post. It does not include the COD charge Canadian Post charged to collect all those other fees, as we'll be taking care of that for you. The surcharge you are shown at checkout is an estimate of the maximum amount you will be charged when we ship your order. Since some items, like books, are partially tax exempt, your taxes, duties, and fees may be lower than the initial estimate. When we ship your order, you will be charged the actual cost of the taxes, duties, and fees, which will be the estimated amount or lower.

The general upshot of all this: fees are conveniently paid with the rest of your order, you no longer have to pay the Canadian Post for the privilege of paying the other fees, and when your package arrives at your door instead of your wallet the only thing you'll need to locate is your webcam so you can make a slick unboxing video showing off all your new toys. Oh, and the whole process only takes a few days instead of a few weeks. That's win-win-win.

Hints and Notes from Shawne:
I like this one.
There's a group in this spot, if the deal works. Stalled, but hopefully progress after the holidays.
Another title will go here. Probably not for a while yet though.
This one is still a long shot. A meeting was held, and progress was made. Expectations must be realistic.

-- Hope the Dark Lady likes her surprise!

If you can come up with an exception, I'd love to know what it is.

Azumanga Daioh
Chrono Crusade (I don't remember being romantic, but my memory...)
Desert Punk
Dirty Pair (at least Flash doesn't)
Haibane Renmei
Kekko Kamen
Lucky Star
Ninja Nonsense
Samurai Champloo
Solty Rei
Strawberry Marshmallow
Weathering Continent
Voogie's Angel

That's just scanning my shelves. Again, some of those might actually have romance sub-plots, but I don't remember them. I thought about adding some others like Madoka or Strike Witches, but Japan loves yuri-teasing so much that's it hard to tell what's romantic and what's not sometimes.

Chrono Crusade (I don't remember being romantic, but my memory...)

I'll object to those three.

Chrono Crusade: Both manga and anime hinted that Chrno had at least a crush on Rosette, and then there's all the stuff with Mary Magdalene in the manga...

Claymore: There is tons of yuri subtext all over the place in the manga, especially after the stuff where the anime ends.

Hellsing: Uh... wasn't there stuff going on between Seras and Pip?

Azumanga Daioh, doesn't that teacher have inappropriate crushes on children? I didn't say it was normal romance.

Anyway, the exceptions I can think of are:
Cromartie High School (there's not even over the top bromance here. And I don't quite think Hokuto's Henchman has a crush on him either)
