Hey guys. I'm new here. Well, I've watched Eureka 7 twice now (adultswim and online) as a series but since I really love the series, I want to buy the two boxsets for memories in the future. However, they are extremely expensive on Amazon or sold out most places. I also considered buying the blu-ray but it seems like those aren't coming out for the english dub anytime soon. That's unfortunate because I would have definitely spent more if they were on blu-ray.
I did manage to find a couple of links and wanted to know if you guys think they are good prices and trustworthy websites. The cheapest I could find is deepdiscount but they were sold out as I expected after seeing the price. http://www.deepdiscount.com/dvd/eureka-seven-2nd-collection/ This is one of the few website I found it in stock and at a reasonable price compared to the $200-400 ones on Amazon and other various websites. Should I just go with the $38 + tax for each one? http://animezanime.com/shop/product.asp?cat=2&item=20813 http://animezanime.com/shop/product.asp?cat=2&item=20814 These websites claimed to have both collections together for a very good price. However, I'm not sure if I can trust them as it seems a bit strange for all 50 episodes to be together for such a low price and the vast majority of websites had no such deal. http://www.animefeeder.com/index.php/Anime-DVDs-D-E/Eureka-Seven-Complete-Series-English-Dubbed/flypage.tpl.html http://www.animedvdbox.com/shop/product.asp?cat=1&item=FX-E006 http://www.animeharu.com/shop/dvds/import-anime-dvd/eureka-seven/eureka-seven-dvd---tv-series-complete-box-set--eng-dub-.asp Any other suggestions guys? I would really appreciate the help from the anime DVD buying experts here. Last edited by SummerofLove on Fri Feb 22, 2013 6:00 am; edited 2 times in total |

The last three URLs linked to bootleg sites. I highly recommend staying far away from them. At this point in time, you are probably better off waiting for the license rescue. FUNimation has Eureka Seven AO, so it's very likely they will pick up Eureka Seven. It's the matter of how long you are willing to wait.

The deepdiscount link says that no more copies are available.
As WTK said, your best bet is likely to wait on a license rescue since many of Bandai's titles are now OOP, meaning more sellers are likely gonna gouge on prices for them. Since Funimation snagged Eureka 7 AO, it's very likely they could license rescue the original series in the near future. |

I'm betting on Funi releasing AO and seeing how that title does, and then license the original if A0 does well. Hopefully they will do a bluray release of the original, it has been out on bluray in Japan foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Well, after adding it to my cart and factoring in shipping+tax, both Vol. 1 and 2 are $50 a piece which isn't too outrageous but I'm not sure if it's worth with the slight potential of an eventual blu-ray rerelease.
http://animezanime.com/shop/product.asp?cat=2&item=20813 Do you guys think I should stick it out until at least Eureka 7: AO is dubbed? I'm sure that will come out on blu-ray when the collection is released. Then, it that does well, the potential of the original being rereleased is higher. Also, do these look legitimate to you guys? I would take it that blu-ray bootlegs are much rarer but tis price seems too good. http://compare.ebay.com/like/290628663433? var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar http://www.ebay.com/itm/EUREKA-SEVEN-7-The-Movie-BLU-RAY-NEW-/271156272310?pt=UK_CDsDVDs_DVDs_DVDs_GL&hash=item3f222c5cb6 |

Those blu-rays are most likely real. The movie was released by Manga Entertainment and not by Bandai or Beez so the price hasn't gone up for those. They go for 7,50 on the UK Amazon.

The first link is still a bootleg release (region free). They are just using the Bandai Ent cover.
The last two links look to be legit Manga UK releases. So that will only be useful if you have a Region B (or Region free) BD player. |

Yeah, thanks for catching that. I didn't notice since they labeled it animelegends. The ones on Amazon are region 1 (US and Canada). It looks like I can't find any reasonable prices ones anywhere that are not region 0 (i.e. likely bootlegged). The ones on Amazon are all $65-$100 I think for Season 1 and like $200+ for Season 2. Any suggestions or is the general consensus that I should wait it out for the potential of a a blu-ray rerelease in the near future? I prefer blu-ray anyways but I just hope the Vol. 1 and 2 collections don't start to become rarer and more overpriced in the next 1-2 years. |

I would suggest for you to wait, but I can't comment on the likelihood of a blu-ray release. Either way, I'm sure it will get re-released.

Because of the Eureka 7 AO dub by funimation? I really hope so. Even if it is just the DVDs. |

You could check out Craig's List (or in Canada, Kijiji) or any other online classified site, some times you can find some anime on the cheap.

Judging by the large number of haters Astral Ocean has I don't expect it to do that great. |

Or you could've done what I did-picked up the sets when they were still readily available and cheap.

That's true but not very helpful as the other user mentioned. Anyways, I've never been big into buying anime DVD's or blu-rays. Just have a few of anime I really like and got back into Eureka 7 recently after hearing Funimation got the rights to it. Also, do you guys know if rightstuf usually has a spring sale every year? Was planning on buying the Eureka 7 movie on bluray but $ 29.99 seems a bit much for one movie. Especially when Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Season 1 and 2 cost around $42.00 on bluray. Oh how I wish Eureka 7 Collection 1 and 2 were on bluray for the dubbed. Only Japan got it on bluray. Don't know why but the UK versions are much cheaper at $15-18 but they are region B as someone mentioned above and I suppose shipping costs would even out the price anyways.
Well, I hope that adultswim or some other channel gives it a chance. I want it dubbed soon as possible. Funimation better release it on bluray. I want Eureka 7 in some form on bluray when I look back in 6-7 years. Even if it just Eureka 7: AO. Only if the original was on bluray. I'd pay a good sum for both boxsets and I'm pretty cheap. Also, does this look legitimate to you guys? http://www.toylet.net/20813.html It doesn't say the region unfortunately but is toylet known for bootlegs? What about this one from animeharu? http://www.animeharu.com/shop/dvds/domestic-anime-dvd/eureka-seven/eureka-seven-dvd-complete-collection-1---anime-legends.asp http://www.animeharu.com/shop/dvds/domestic-anime-dvd/eureka-seven/eureka-seven-dvd-complete-collection-2---anime-legends.asp So, are these real? If they are, I'm ordering immediately? If some how they are released in the future on blu-ray from Funimation, I'll just sell them. They do say Region 1 fortunately but I've heard they do sell bootleg stuff too based on reviews. Reading more reviews on the website is doing my head in. They apparently advertise stuff as available when it is sold out and have terrible customer service. I'm surprised because there website looks so legitimate. Well, at least there website claims to only charge once the item is shipped. http://www.animeharu.com/help/?id=1&num=7&cat=Shipping+and+Handling#7 Edit: Never mind. It was mentioned above that animeharu ones are bootleg. |
