Depends on what you'd consider major. Both the PocketStation, and PSX were also Japan-only products. Those two both sold considerably better than PS Vita TV has in Japan too.

I meant more on the matter of Japan getting something we don't have yet or none at all. I didn't mean just Sony themselves as it has also occurred with other companies too. I've known people who went out of the way to get these computers, consoles, VCR's and what-not just so they could claim to have superiority in having one.

Speaking of Sony, and being completely off-topic here, here's one guy I know who was an early adopter of their Betamax format machines in the 70's who managed to score a Japanese Betamax in 1980 he pre-vlogged about....
