February '15
Well, my expenses this month were a cinch to tabulate:
$0.00
Don't get many of those. Anyway, this is good because although I said a few posts above that I'm putting aside $75 a pay check for my anime and related purchases (which means a yearly budget of $1,800), I've revised that down to $50 per pay check (yearly budget of $1,200).
Having spent almost $230 in January, this February goose egg puts me at a monthly average of around $115 so far.

Anime total £38.52
Manga total £51.94
Manhwa total £1.50
Merch total £54.29
Artbook total £41.03

A few eBay sales came through at the very end of the month to soften February's financial blow; which saw relatively minor purchasing until I won an auction for the Amazon Collector's Edition of Cowboy Bebop for $100 the other day. Still in pretty good shape for the year though, but I have to start listing some more items in order to keep up this selling pace and offset some moderate-to-hefty charges that are coming down the pike.
$173.80 spent through January
$162.00 made from anime sales on eBay through January
$11.80 difference through January
February:
$262.55 spent
$145 made
----------
$436.35 YTD spent
$307.00 YTD made
$129.35 YTD difference

Well, I got official confirmation from RightStuf that HomuHomu has no shipping date. I'm a little sadfaced, but this would've been a bad time for her to ship anyway.
Manga: $7.83
Novel : $7.22
Subscription: $30.00
February Total: $45.05
February YOY: -$52.32
2015 YTD: $129.53
YTD YOY: -$96.39
That makes two Februaries in a row with a YOY decrease. Go me?

It's a couple of days early, but here's my expenses to date:
I bought nothing in March, leaving me with year-to-date expenses of $241.34. That's compared to this time a year ago when my YTD expenses were $449.52.
So far, I'm keeping up with my goal of cutting my anime purchases.

Suppose its that time of the month again. Here we go...
Sorcerer Hunters TV Complete Series: $31.98
Hatsukoi Limited/ Strike Witches: $47.15
Puella Magi Madoka Magica movies 1 and 2- $59.96
Unlimited Psychic Squad: $33.48
Saiyuki/ Hayate the Combat Butler: Can't Keep My Eyes Off You- $59.98
March 2015 Total: $232.55
YTD Total: $715.04
Total Around This Time Last Year: $806.22
Not bad. Will likely be spending more next month since I have a few pre-orders next month and I'm getting increasingly tempted to snag up all three Dear Brother sets.

Another light month. I think it's a combination of a slow year for new stuff and the fact that I've collected a huge amount of fairly easy-to-find, out of print/discontinued/older releases over the past two years - thus eliminating the extra spending which really inflated my costs in that timespan. With the few remaining old/oop releases I'm searching for being harder and harder and harder to find, I forecast spending will continue to trend downward significantly compared last year. Add to that a moderate increase in eBay sales and there could conceivably come a time where YTD spending and sales break even.
$436.35 spent through February
$307.00 made from anime sales on eBay through February
$129.35 difference through February
March:
$94.47 spent
$90 made
----------
$530.82 YTD spent
$397 YTD made
$133.82 YTD difference

March '15
Total: $244.94
That was for importing 6 dvd TV titles from Siren Visual in Oz, buying a ticket to When Marnie Was Here (which will screen in April) and importing the Arrietty BD from the UK.
As I said in another thread, I probably should be adding the $179 CAD I spent on getting an all-region BD player to my anime hobby budget (since playing anime is the ONLY reason I got it), but screw it!
YTD spending: $474.54

Here is my March total:
Grand: £211.98
Manga: £118.41 (15 volumes, several of which were omnibuses)
Novel: £14.98 (Spice and Wolf 13, and a random FMA novel I found in a second hand shop)
Manhwa: £14.00
Figures: £64.59
Thankfully AmiAmi didn't request a payment for a preordered figure until the first of this month...

I had an SSD die on me, which, despite not being the disk it was on, managed to result in me losing my long list of anime purchases(I've got the warranty replacement, but do I really want to use it?). The resulting sense of defeat's delayed me far too long on this. So, without further ado:
Figure: $206.47
Manga: $15.66
March 2015 Total: $222.13
March YOY: +$56.74
2015 YTD: $351.66
YTD YOY: -$39.65
So far, the most expensive month for me by far this year and looking to stay that way if things keep going the way they have been. We'll have to see what the others have in store, but if something doesn't change, I might end up having my credit cards paid off instead. *shudder*

Madoka Magica Rebellion DVD- $33.47
Dear Brother (all 3 sets)- $130.97
Outbreak Company Blu-Ray- $35.24
World Conquest Zvezda Plot DVD Set- $59.98
April 2015 Total: $259.66
YTD Total: $974.70
Total Around This Time Last Year: $826.53
See what May has to offer.

when I was younger and living at home (high school age) I averaged a few hundred a year. Since then (this year as yet another example) I am probably between 100-200 USD because I mostly use crunchyroll and DVD rentals or library access. Far too poor to sink the money into this hobby I;d like to as an entry level network engineer

I've gotten a little behind:
April '15
$193.28
May '15
$243.41
Anime North accounted for the bulk of my May total what with buying $155 worth of used anime (mostly OOP).
YTD: $911.23
That last figure makes my desire to restrict my spending to $1,200 this year a tad unrealistic. $1,500 maybe (although I think $1,800 will probably be closer to the mark)?
Still the good news is that I continue to finance 100% of my purchases from savings and current account as opposed to incurring debt. Yay, me!
