Doesn't Ranma hate cats? That was a good list of cat lovers. For the new poll I did not even vote because there are just too many possibilities. I had not heard of most of them before because I have not watched the shows, and those that I was familiar with, such as Pantyhose Taro, seem completely normal compared to the others. Was the first item intentionally blank to represent a character who actually has no name? |

Pantyhose Taro at least has a reason for his name (yep, blame Happosai again), unlike, say, half the cast of Aura Battler Dunbine. Including the heroine, Marvel Frozen. (And this, thirty years before the Disney/Marvel deal! ) As for Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, at the time I always thought that sounded like Bugs Bunny imitating Bing Crosby in that one cartoon.

Strangest name is Satellizer el Bridget, and it's very hard to compare any other name to its strangeness, both in its depth and width.
It's not an outright comedy. She's the female lead so it's not a one off deal. She's both this warrior amazon and a blushing bashful maiden but her name's closest connotation is "fertilizer". Even if you think her first name is meant to be Bridget, you still have to deal with the "el Satellizer" family name being notable in that world rather than ridiculed. It's almost as if the writer wanted something that sounded foreign but didn't think that highly of foreign languages... or internet searches. |

Ranma fears cats to the point where he panics and tries to run away. While perhaps not in the same sense as the others listed, he is unable to resist them. Unless, of course, he is pushed too far and he becomes cat like himself. It has something to do with his father wrapping him in fish sausage and throwing him in a pit of hungry cats as a training exercise. |

Nah, Gundam has too many of them. When half the guys you meet have a name like Dangle Stone, it loses its edge, and the one guy named Bob Smith starts to look like the weird one. |

-Kio from Cat Planet Cuties has an alien cat girlfriend named Eris. -Aaron "Alphonse" Dismuke played Kio and Tia "Happy" Ballard was Eris. -Brittney Karbowski was Manami but is also FT's Wendy who has Carla. -Monica Rial was Aoi but also played Chihiro's zombie cat in Sankarea. -In Sankarea, Chihiro and Rea had the same dub voices as Kio and Eris. |
