Damn, this is quite exciting news! X-Japan and Hyde together should be quite interesting! As someone who’s seen X-Japan live multiple times, this makes me quite happy!

Sidenote: Funimation has the streaming rights for AU/NZ? Does this mean it wont be on AnimeLab? |
Yes it's been confirmed by the Attack on Titan Committee

I would have liked to see the tradition carry on with Linked Horizon, but this is a more than worthy replacement. I mean come on! It's X Japan, how can anyone be upset about this?

Linked Horizon was to me the next Takanori Nishikawa.
If anyone wanted epic anime OP music, you go to that band.
I hope they come back for a season 4.
I am looking forward to this new band, though.

IKR? Here’s a primer for anyone who doesn’t get it: imagine if Queen, Kiss, and U2 were the same band. That’s X Japan..

Toonami has been known to make its new show announcements pretty close to when they start. If anything, the announcement of Diamond is Unbreakable is unusual. Plus, the simuldub of AoT season 2 started much later than one might have expected, with the reason later turning out to be that Toonami wanted the dub to premier there rather than online. I expect we'll see it there soon, especially since FLCL 2 just ended and 3 doesn't start until September.

Can't wait, so damned hyped for more.
AnimeLordLuis wrote: | Well that sucks Linked Horizon was one of my favorite things about the AOT Anime series and although it’s sad that they won’t be returning for the third season I’m still excited for more AOT. |
Yeah, I've loved their OPs and they were an extra great piece of the show, hopefully they'll be back for another maybe with the next one.
But at least it's Hyde, I still remember the FMA one with him so hopefully it'll be at least that good and memorable.

Yeah, was just thinking of that if it had to be someone different.

Sorry if I don't keep up with some of the most popular music bands in Japan like some of you guys, since I pretty much don't have much knowledge concerning who's who and who's big.
It's difficult sometimes, cause its well JAPAN.
I might know what Babymetal is, but not all bands like X Japan.

Understandable. Put simply, X Japan is the biggest Japanese rock band of all time. Everything you know (especially Linked Horizon) came from them.

Makes me wonder who is the most popular musician in Japan.
Like Michael Jackson, Elvis, the Beatles, or Madonna is for the U.S.

X Japan is a world-class band that has held a concert as Madison Square Garden. Opening theme is a more coveted position than ending theme. There's no way they'd put X Japan on ending theme unless they're ALSO doing the opening. |
I am not knocking X Japan. To me though AoT is synonymous with Linked Horizon, so it is going to be very odd not having them, just like it would be odd having Overlord without OxT and MYTH&ROID. The ED artist has changed but the OP...
