Because if you watch illegally on line, the DP will come get you |
Does the Director of Photography on Nausicaa have a reputation for being a badass dude? You mean Hideshi Kyonen, the cinematographer, right?

It is unlikely. Google video was Google's answer to Youtube before they went an bought it instead, so consisted mostly (if not entirely) of user-uploaded content. The fact that these Ghibli videos have been there for three years now (which pre-dates a lot of legal anime streaming) without any official endorsement or advertising, especially given the high profile of the studio, the association with Disney, the fact that these are entire movies, strongly suggests they aren't being hosted legitimately.

The confusion probably came from the fact the Google Videos no longer display the username of the person who uploaded the video. If they saw it say "Uploaded by: ChunkyLover53" they would have known it was illegally uploaded. lol

'Cause I don't condone piracy. |
That's pretty rare for a manga/anime fan.

No doubt, I also noticed recently they stopped the iPod/PSP download function as well, but I can remember back when it seemed like every Tom, Dick and Harry was sticking vids up on there in their entirety due to few limits they had over YouTube. If you bother searching around there you'll still find some stragglers of that bygone era before they shut down their video uploader thingy.

That's a shame since it is something I really missed on Youtube.

I've been getting along fine otherwise, though it's a shame with Google Video if the MP4 had a stereo track over the flv's monaural qualities.
