BONES seems to be one of the few studios left that really has fun working on projects. In a way that comes across to the viewer, that is. The only other one to do it consistently I would have to say is Gainax. Although the AIC studio working on both seasons of Sora no Otoshimono had a lot of fun with the varied OPs, etc.

But what really makes the outfit is when the wearer calls out, "Dazzle the stage!"

Personally, I like the gratuitous French: "APPRIVOISER!"

No no no, what really makes the outfit is when it's blowing in the wind when Takuto beats somebody.

Right! That sequence of pictures just reinforces my desire to have that outfit, but yes, a giant fan just has to be an accessory!

So when is Takarazuka doing the live stage version? Because that's what that costume is screaming to me.

The magical-boy changing scene is so entertaining. I don't know why, since it's a repetition every time, but it's just fabulous.
I hope Bones won't keep the self-portraits a secret, because that wouldn't be as fabulous as their newest anime.

I don't know about picking up chicks, but at the daycare center I volunteer at one of the little kids was playing with a toy camera and pretending to take my picture. I struck the "kiraboshi" pose, and at least with the 3-year old crowd it provokes gales of giggles.
Actually, I think it would probably do that with most crowds...

This thread is epic. I've been laughing a bit too hard. I can't wait to see this anime lol.
I wonder how many applicants they'll get?

Okay...just reading this thread has made me incredibly interested in watching this series. It all sounds so...fabulous and epic. Who's got it for streaming?
Also, that outfit. O_O I haven't wanted an article of clothing this badly in my life!

Nobody, unfortunately. We were all expecting a big announcement with its premier at New York, but nothing came of it. Chances are it will be licensed (it's BONES, it's by the writer of Utena, it's already got a small group of people psychotically in love with it) but until then it's fansubs, and from one of my least favorite groups at that.

Fail. The Mikuru Beam is done by extending the thumb and index finger over and under the eye. Also, your hand is facing inward, not outward like kiraboshi. In fact, this looks nothing like kiraboshi.
Sailor Moon would be a much better example except that the hand goes over the forehead, not the eye. Also in the S seasons, the pose was re-animated so that the thumb is closed when she does it.
