So far that parody is pretty standard, but this wont be a proper parody until Amy gets attacked by a tentacle monster.

They've been leaking out designs for awhile now (witness the avatar) but I have to agree it's not likely to be deep parody. Like the Simpson's Treehouse of Horror these "Tales of Interest" type fantasy shows are a tradition, and like THoH, especially recent ones, they end up being shallow spoofs. And lets face it, Groenig aint exactly the guy to go to if you want anime designs- these are all just spiky versions of the regular designs. It's too bad they didn't adapt designs from a guest character designer.

But of course I look forward to the season as a whole, the only time I've ever really been disapointed with the franchise was the messy "Wide Green Yonder" movie- that was supposed to serve as a possible finale of the series but was just clumsy.

I prefer the anime = La Blue Girl parody route.

Forgot that one.. I think it's stuff like this that makes me appreciate Panty & Stocking more. Those guys did research when they made fun of US animation. These parodies just seem so lazy and misinformed.

Ha, that was pretty goofy! A little tropey, but all in good taste.

Yeah, it's kind of shallow...but face it, there's still a grain of truth in it.

And this is Futurama we're talking about. They can get away with it.

...it's gotta be better than Perfect Hair Forever...

At least it's not as inaccurate as College Humor's video about a guy who IS anime according to them, as CH apparently thinks the weird Japanese commercials played during anime is the anime as opposed to the anime itself. Rolling Eyes FAIL.

I don't think anything can be funnier than Atom's "My Anime Girlfriend". They can try, but they'll always be second place.

No More Heros 2: Desperate Struggle parody of the Magical Girl Anime genre.

Meh, I thought it was going to look like anime in the same way that Panty & Stocking looks like US cartoons.

All they did was have flashing backgrounds and bad lip sync.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!! HOLY... between the ridiculous recent debates about American animation being compared to anime popping up in certain anime forums, the subjective bitching at the Voltron Force premiere night thread here, the discussion from the thread about the new modified animation nominee rules for the Academy awards show, and now THIS... it's like the planets are freaking aligning together or something! Laughing Could it be coincidence?

But serious, this is just becoming way, way, WAY too weird (not to mention annoying reading all the responses) to be pure coincidence for me. It's just... wow!

I was gonna post that. Definitely the best and most accurate anime parody out there!

The Simpsons series has also made anime jokes in the past, including a 1999 episode that parodied the incident two years earlier when a Pokémon episode caused epileptic seizures in viewers.

As a suggestion, you may want to change the article to an, since I thought that "the incident" had already been discussed in previous paragraphs instead of being discussed in the later part of the sentence.

That is all.
