Weekly Shonen Ace? That has to be a mistake. Do you mean Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine? Or Kadokawa's Shonen Ace?

Well it could be evil organizations have been experimenting with tobacco crops, using mutagens to enhance their addictive effects on tobacco users. But it has gone horribly awry, with some smokers getting weird abilities or powers.

So a case of "Do not do this cool thing"?

Now kids will beg their older siblings to go get them some cigarettes to see if they'll get those cool powers too!

Whatever happened to stuff like Popeye deriving superpowers from eating spinach? At least that sent kids a good message and encouraged them to eat spinach, which is very good for you, however unintentional it was.

Isn't Asia in general a growing cigarette market. I think against that back drop it would make sense that cigarettes are seen in a different light, than in the United States.

Deadman wonderland started it for me..

interest in series with characters using blood as weapons (ability to control blood)

blood blockade battle front
Beyond the boundary

i'm sure there are others series but just know these 3..

Deadman Wonderland anime would be better if it was a bit longer....
