You're probably going to hate it more when you actually watch the series... It really needs a Ghost Stories-style dub. Hell, ALL of these need a dub. Friggin Discotek...

....*cough* actually one of the few people who loved School Days *cough*

Don't listen to this philistine. It's a timeless masterpiece.

Seriously, though, it's a decent tragedy that refreshingly short-circuits a million anime high-school cliches.

I'm so happy that I'll finally be able to get the original Eat-Man series in english on dvd, Discotek is a savior. It's also great they're re-releasing Eat-Man '98 because I was debating on whether I should get the old Bandai release. I'll definitely be getting this release.

The Tetsujin 28-go series from 2004 looks fun. I love its mix of super retro character designs and modern animation. It was based on a series localized in the west as Gigantor, but this iteration never got brought over.

The 2004 series was licensed and dubbed.

Hooray! Star Fleet and Lupin the III, for my birthday! One day before anyway, but still, it's like a birthday present from them to me in a way, lol

The pick-ups are nice, but I'm more interested in the news about Magic Knight Rayearth. I was wondering what's been going on with it, since it's way past March for what was supposed to be the DVD release of the series. Hopefully the approval for it will come in soon, because I really want to get a hold of this series at some point.

Me too. I sold my remastered DVD sets in anticipation of the Blu-ray release.

I love Eat-Man. Thanks Discotek! Now, if the Eat-Man manga was licensed here, I would be so happy.

I still have the Media Blasters releases of Cosmo Warrior Zero and Gun Frontier, but with them and The Galaxy Railways licensed it's good to see more Leiji Matsumoto series available.

CWZ and GF were offered for licensing by Enoki Films, so I hope we also eventually see the third Matsumoto series of that era that they had, Submarine Super 99, which never got a release in English.

Yeah, with the number of delays they've had over the years, I sort of wish that Discotek would go the Sentai route and not announce a catalog title until much of the work is done, and it's getting ready for production and replication. It doesn't make much sense to me when someone announces an older title months, sometimes a year plus, before it will be available. I can understand it when the title is going on streaming sites right away, or if it's a very high profile title, but it can very frustrating in other cases.

Oh my, you're right! I guess that'll teach me to rush out a forum post based on an old list I typed into a Notepad document and vague recollections.

I guess I added it to my list assuming the DVDs were out of print, but it looks like there are still copies available on Amazon, though some of them are pricier than others.

How frequently are Discotek DVD's/BD's Region 1/A locked? Because if magic Knight Rayearth is on the cards i'ma have to import that!

I am very interested in potentially owning Sonic X seasons 1-3, Eat-Man, Gun Frontier, Strike the Blood, and Lupin the 3rd 2nd Series, however I want to know how much Discotek normally charges for their complete set releases first. I haven't bought any anime from Discotek, so I'm not familiar with how they price anime whereas I have bought anime from Funimation and Sentai Filmworks/Section23, so I'm familiar with their standards prices for anime releases.

I'm glad Eat-Man finally got licensed again, but I wish it had happened before. I've already bought this series twice (first the terrible Spanish R2 DVDs, and then the Japanese BD-box, which turned out to be upscaled from composite masters), and now I guess I'll buy this release as well, because I need some decent subs I can rip to watch my BDs.
