Oh! It's a sad Your Lie In April-esque film. Huh. I wonder if the title is some sort of metaphorical "eating" like the disease is eating away the main girl's pancreas, or if it has something to do with the protagonist and his determination to make the girl forget her pancreas are slowly killing her by eating away her worries and anxieties about dying and leaving behind her life.
...
Nah. It's probably just bad Engrish.

I believe the title is a literal translation, but the meaning behind it has to do with wishing to take away her disease, which is pancreatic cancer.

I keep imagining an anime character whose superpower is curing diseased organs by eating them and spitting them out.

Personally, I hope that whoever is in charge of the English release can convince the Japanese Overlords that this is not a good title for this show. The horror fans will feel cheated while the intended audience doesn't even look at it. Horrible title. Sheesh.

Hm, I keep on reading it to the tune of Nirvana's Heart-Shaped Box playing in the background, only with the word pancreas instead of cancer. "I wish I could eat your (pancreas) when you turn black"...

Man, I have no idea why anyone thought that title was a good idea.

Huh... I thought I was the only one doing that.

This sounds like the title is by far the most interesting thing about it.

Hey, maybe it's a comedy... Then the title could match the theme.
How does one make a comedy out of cancer, you ask?
The same way Roberto Benigni made a comedy out of the holocaust.
It can be done. But somehow I don't think that's what's going on here...

Same here. The premise sounds soupy enough to be fun, perhaps, but I was definitely more intrigued by the title.
