One appealing theory is that Nanana is not actually dead. Instead she is trapped in her current state by some treasure she collected. She may or may not be aware of it herself or possibly restrained from communicating in some way. The story so far doesn't give any reason to believe this is true but if it was it would, as you say, explain a few things. |

That is an interesting theory. I actually wouldn't be against that actually happening, as it'd make the whole "potential romance" between Nanana and Juugo seem less weird (never have been able to completely wrap my head around ghost-human love stories, like Dusk Maiden).
But, it'd mean that she is a little weirder than she already seems. Would mean she interprets, "Who murdered you?" to "Who used one of your treasures to trap you in this room and leave you in a ghost-like state?", when Juugo asks about her murderer. I'd like to hear what sort of work around would be needed to explain that away. |
