Malintex: I think the fact that they have a problem with their shows being Japanese indicates some xenophobia on their part. Yeah, they're not the first company which took out references to Japanese culture in anime, but other companies usually did that, because they were worried that kids would be turned off, if those shows didn't "look" Western. Al Kahn just does it, because he thinks, "kids don't read", which I guess means they prefer to be ignorant than learn something new, even though the infotainers at PBS would undoubtedly prove him wrong. Also, the fact that he genuinely believe he's "improving" a show indicates a level of conceit and ethnocentrism similar to that of a Hollywood remake, but without the respect for the source material.
