Though it would be nice if they went forward with all the series they've previously announced, but that's not likely. A few will, I'm sure, go to other companies. Perhaps even underperformers may be spared if the changes occuring alter the profit lines in the right way. Damn it, sometimes I really wish all I enjoyed was mecha/shounen. My life would be a lot easier then. Oh, for anyone who noticed my absence recently, I'm back. Had to take care of some college related foderal and flotsam. Nothing to be concerned about. |

Anyone know a link or have a list of what titles are affected?
Geneon was... is my favorite distributor. Even their turds are polished; Ikki Tousen. But those gems shine oh so much more; Gankutsuou. |

*sighs* Oh well. It's a shame but maybe other compaine will learn not the charge both arms when they do pricing on their merch.
I do hope to see Hellsing make it to another company though. |

As I read the wording of the press release, it sounds that it was people above Geneon who decided to cancel the ADV alliance. Things were probably all lined up and set to go, but Dentsu were the ones who pulled the plug.
Sayonara, Geneon, you will be missed. Thanks for the memories. |

I expected Cynicism but I truly believe we can help convince companies to do this. |

Well, I must say that TRSI is on this like white on rice. They got back to me fairly quickly.
Methinks they've been getting a lot of e-mails concerning this. I think that I'll hold off cancelling anything and take the "wait and see" approach. I have to say this though. Geneon was awfully quick to fire (or however they call it) their Sales staff. Especially since they did not have the final signatures on the contract with ADV. That should be a lesson to everyone, never fire people until you have ALL of the I's dotted and the T's crossed and the documents signed and notarized! |

I was hoping that this wouldn't happen. This latest unfortunate development affects three series that I was collecting: Karin, Rozen Maiden, and When They Cry - Higurashi. The latter of which I just received the third volume of on Monday and I am trying to decide if I should open it or return it.
Until about four or five months ago I generally ignored Geneon's single disc releases because of their costs and collected their box sets. I was excited about owning Karin, Rozen, and Higurashi so I bought the volume one limited editions of all three series on the same day back in May. I hope that all three series get finished eventually. Last edited by Akari-chan on Wed Sep 26, 2007 12:14 pm; edited 1 time in total |

A petition won't work. You can get all the signatures in the universe and it won't make Dentsu change their minds. This is something beyond our control. Last edited by bci110 on Wed Sep 26, 2007 11:55 am; edited 1 time in total |

The street date for volume 4 of Karin was November 13th - that figures. So now I have a collector's box with only half the series. And like a reasonably good little boy, as per my usual procedure I deleted my fansubs once the R1's first became available. Stupid me. |

I can't believe I forgot about this, but Geneon also held the license to Guardian of the Sacred Spirit, which I'm also surprised no one else mentioned. This one is probably my second-favorite series of the year and was a definite buy for me, along with Nanoha, so now I am even more saddened by this news.
All we can hope for are any updates. |

That's certainly the truth. All we've been doing this morning is fielding e-mails regarding the situation from nervous customers. We're hoping folks won't jump the gun on Geneon pre-order cancellations and such since the situation is VERY unclear at the moment. I'm going to be talking to Jim Yardly over at Geneon later today to see if he has any insight, but I don't think any real clarification will come for at least a few days.
