Episode 3
Did not really think about it till now, but there is a certain Lovecraftian feel to some of this. I think that it was that more than previous we had eldritch beings that don't just defy human understanding, but exist outside of it. There has to be irony as a lot of Lovecraft is about most of humanity being ignorant to truths, and how a major factor in this show has been humans, at least the ones here, accepting it as normal.

Russian guy has requested nuclear weapons for his "nation" from a monster boss of alternate world.
What "nation" he meant?
(Obviously, not Russians, as Russia has lots of nuclear weapons already.)

The review said he's Ukrainian, but I'm not sure where that was said. It makes sense though.

The on-screen introduction says he's a former Soviet.

Well, that by itself leaves about 14 other possibilities, but his surname points to Ukrainian or Belarussian.

If I had to describe this season so far in 4 words, I'd use:
1. Flashy
2. Over-the-top
3. Surreal
4. Entertaining
Don't know about the director's previous works, but I'm not watching this for anything other than weekend entertainment.

Episode 4:
Good episode again. I just love the style and themes in particular with the fictional type of monsters in this series. As for this episode, the fight with Blood Breed is fabulously portrayed. Zapp also remains fabulous as ever with his moves and reactions.
Kinda curious about the full extent of Leo's ability though. He seems to suffer a bit of a backlash after using it this episode. Also, I'm also curious to see what White's next move will be...

So how does a vamp who can suck blood from a distance in a neat, flowing ribbon, still manage to get it all over her face? It's not spaghetti.
Loved all the wonderful little details in this as usual. Especially fun to watch the monkey with the bag of chips.

Woot, still good past the 3rd episode barrier. Good balance of humor and seriousness, still have budget for nice-ish animation. I'm impress.

Leo hanging out with the team..
Of course the kid had to see something unique again.
Still, vampires are pretty cool ^^
That Blitz guy... weirdness.
Poor Leo got hit by a bunch of bad luck from Bitz..
Zapp was exhausted by all the crazy things that kept happening 'cause of Blitz.
Those vampires mean business, but so does Libra.
Great episode!

Another good ep. This is one stylish looking show. Anyway, it looks like we finally have some proper villans with those two vampires

Episode 5:
This show is so fun! and this episode lived up to its expectations.
Aligura's presence show is also quite something imo, something that I welcome despite some of her craziness. Prisner is also quite a fascinating little being imo this episode. Great action as well this episode and Zapp is still fun as ever to watch. Seeing Brody in action was also quite nice since he shows his monstrous abilities.

Zapp & Leo just love to fight ^^"
They seem to be trouble magnets too..
The car eating monster was pretty persistent.
Leo always somehow gets captured *facepalm*
That Hummer sure was popular with all girls.
Aligura was especially keen to get her guy back.
Well, that kinda backfired..
So Leo has a girl he likes... how sweet ^^

If the show is trying to entertain by shocking viewers with the most outrageous scenes from the most unexpected angle possible, it's certainly doing a good job of it.
My memory for movies is weak, but the one the pair were watching at the end seemed to be some kind of variant of the "Twins" move starring Schwarzenegger and DeVito from decades ago. For some reason, it seems to elicit quite a reaction from the girl (possibly because of who the brother is supposed to be?)
