When I pulled up my list and selected those I had marked as complete I got 458 title!

Now, I admit many of those are one volume titles, and I mark cancelled titles as complete even if more volumes exist in Japan. So I filtered down to complete titles with more than ten volumes. A bit of further editing to exclude cancelled titles and a few duplicates (I have both the complete Tokyopop and Kodansha versions of Sailor Moon for example) and technically ongoing titles that are on hiatus left me with 46 complete titles with over 10 volumes.

They are:

Astro Boy
Banana Fish
Bakuman
Black Cat
Black God
Black Jack
Ceres: Celestial Legend
Cirque du Freak
Death Note
Dr. Slump
Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z
Dragon Knights
Flame of Recca
Fruits Basket
Fullmetal Alchemist
Fushigi Yugi
Fushigi Yugi: Genbu Kaiden
Great Teacher Onizuka
Great Teacher Onizuka: The Early Years
Inu Yasha
Kare Kano
Love Hina
Lupin III
Maison Ikkoku
MÄR
Nabari No Ou
Negima
Phoenix
Project ARMS
Psychic Academy
Ranma 1/2
Rurouni Kenshin
Sailor Moon
Silent Mobius
Sorcerer Hunters
Spiral: Bonds of Reasoning
Tenchi Muyo: No Need for Tenchi!
Tenjho Tenge
Threads of Time
Trigun Maximum
Tsubasa, RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE
Video Girl Ai
What's Michael?
XXXholic
Yakitate!! Japan
Yu Yu Hakusho

Admittedly, with 3182 volumes of manga my shelves are more than full.

Interestingly, I only own four of the titles on the list in the article.

Wow, you guys must have a lot of spare money laying around. I only have 5 manga series and of those only two are completed. Akira and Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. I have every released volume of Neon Genesis Evangelion, but I'm still waiting on the last volume to come in the mail. I even ordered that Japanese special edition just for the stupid bookend. The other two series are relatively recent ones, Nisekoi and Attack on Titan. If I had more free time on my hands I'd read more series.

I think most of my unfinished series are due to publishing companies dieing rather than lack of space or money.

The ones I've personally completed are:
Ai Yori Aoshi (17)
Black Bird (18)
Boogiepop Dual (2)
Boogiepop Doesn't Laugh (2)
Bunny Drop (10)
Chobits (8)
Code Geass: Nightmare of Nunally (5)
Gunslinger Girl (15)
Hellsing (10)
Kare Kano (21)
Midori Days (8)
Planetes (5)
Scryed (5)
Seikai Trilogy (3)

Although there are more series I have completed collecting but not read yet. Also several ongoing long series like Claymore, D.Gray-man, and Oh My Goddess.

I haven't updated my list of manga volumes since January so there may be some omissions. I can't list all completed titles it would be too many, but I'll provide the top 10.

At top is Inu Yasha at 56 volumes.
Next is Oh My Goddess! at 46 and continuing.
Samurai Deeper Kyo is complete at 38 volumes however the last two volumes were two volume omnibus editions so the actual count is 36.
Boys over Flowers at 37 volumes.
Negima! at 37 volumes. I also picked up the first 6 of the omnibus volumes covering the first 18 volumes of the series.
Ranma 1/2 at 36 volumes
The Wall Flower at 33 volumes and continuing
Initial D is at 33 volumes but is incomplete because Tokyo Pop quit publishing it.
Skip Beat is at 31 and continuing
And rounding it off, Blade of the Immortal at 30 volumes with one to go.

I'm not really sure how you would count something like GTO. Technically, GTO at 25 volumes, GTO the Early Years at 15 volumes (one missing, blast it) and GTO 14 days in Shonan are three different series but they involve a single main character and the same continuity. This is complicated by the fact that GTO the Early Years is in omnibus volumes here and was 31 volumes in Japan. Omnibus volumes are great for buying purposes but make it difficult to make lists like this.

There is another dozen titles with 20 or more volumes in my collection. As of last January, I had in excess of 650 titles in my collection but a lot of those are incomplete, mostly because the publisher quit issuing them.

The same amount that I own in any form--zero! Though at the very least I've seriously considered buying Nausicaa someday. That hardcover collection of it looks pretty damn awesome.

Yes it is. the only caveat I have with the hardcover set is that Viz left in some typos in the lettering.

Sad to say that I haven't completed a lot of my series. Mostly, my completed series are shorter series from authors that I really love, or series that were short to begin with.

1. Clover
2. Wish
3. Suki
4. Devil May Cry 3, a manga that I despise for its overly serious take on the source material - that works a little better for the scenes featuring Vergil, but not Dante. This could be considered a peer into the game series' dark future with DmC: Devil May Cry.
5. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
6. Dragon Ball (volumes 1-16. I haven't completed the DBZ manga series yet)

Can't remember any others right now.

I think the longest complete sets I have are Ouran High School Host Club (18) and Otomen (18). Natsume Yuujincho is getting close to that number though it won't be complete for a while. Oh wait, Basara. I forgot about Basara (27). Most of the series I have are 10-12 vols.

Negima! (38) is my longest, but I don't think any of my other completed series come close. Berserk (37) will likely outstrip that, if it's ever finished.

My longest completed series has actually never been finished in English, so I bought all of the Japanese volumes.

3x3 Eyes (40)
Basara (27)
Fruits Basket (23)
20th Century Boys (22)
Please Save My Earth (21)
Monster (18)
From Far Away (14)
Twin Spica (12)
Emma, a Victorian Romance (10)
No. 6 (9)
Story of Saiunkoku (9)
Chrono Crusade (8)
Cross Game (8)
Parasyte (8)
Magic Knight Rayearth (6) (MIXX edition)
7 Billion Needles (4)
Puella Magi Madoka Magica (3)
21st Century Boys (2)
Girl Friends (2)
Magic Knight Rayearth (2) (Darkhorse ediiton)
Nausicaa (2)
Heart of Thomas (1)
Sakuran (1)
Uzumaki (1)

And then there are a few series where I have collected everything that has been currently been brought out (all Darkhorse titles), but it's not the entire series:
Eden: It's an Endless World (14)
Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service (13)
Translucent (3)

And then I have approximately 15 other series that I'm at varying stages of collecting. I estimate I'm at about 350 volumes.

Man, I miss long-running, adventure, fantasy shoujo. I would love to see Yona of the Dawn and 7 Seeds picked up. 7 Seeds is a pipe dream, but I think that Yona may be possible.

The Day of Revolution
Figure 17
Genshiken
Girl Got Game
Kill Me, Kiss Me
Here Is Greenwood

I have all of 20th Century Boys (22) and its two volume sequel/epilogue 21st Century Boys, Fullmetal Alchemist (27), Death Note, Trigun (2 large editions) and Trigun Maximum (14), all of the Gunsmith Cats omnibus editions (4 super-sized), all of MW (1 super large collection) and Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind (3 super large volumes).

Those are just the manga I have all of. I have a bunch of unfinished manga series that I've not finished collecting (and some I probably never will).
