They ruined a perfectly good opportunity to promote the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games series by not including Sonic. Still, gotta hand it to the PM to hype Tokyo four years from now.

This was the most Japanese thing ever, and it cracked me the hell up. Now give us a walking Gundam in 2020!

I hope the Olympic flame is basically Goku holding up the spirit bomb.

Well, Doraemon was in it, as part of a video on a buildingside (along with Nobita, Shizuka, Suneo, and Gian), and he provided Mario with the Warp Pipe needed to get to Rio.

I thought the most entertaining part of the entire closing ceremony was the announcer saying: 'Wow, all this time I never realized Abe Shinzo was Super Mario.'

Yeah, too bad the announcers couldn't keep quiet during the rest of the closing ceremony.

Well as fun as that was to watch I'm sure that when the Tokyo 2020 Olympics start we haven't seen anything yet . In other words that was just a small drop in an Olympic size swimming pool for what to come. Very Happy

This would had been pretty cool if he was a liked Prime Minister.

But...he really isn't. He's awful. Two examples: he's the reason it's incredibly hard to migrate to Japan and has tried to downplay the atrocities Japan conducted in WW2 by having textbooks changed.

As a fan of Doraemon, it was awesome to see him and the gang.

At least the jump at 34s mark on the video is reference to the famous opening scene of the first movie. Unfortunately we did not have naked Motoko doing it now...

Considering election results last couple of years he seems pretty well liked in Japan.

I have to wonder how the LDP stays in power then.

That's great! In the meantime, can't wait to see Miku on Olympic 2020.

Unless the public has completely turned on them, some Vocaloids have got to be in the opening ceremony. Maybe some toga-clad versions...
