as well as the upcoming Manga: The Complete Guide, which contains a total of over 900 brief reviews covering every single manga that has been commercially published in English.

This sounds interesting! I'll have to try and remember this.

Did they say when it was going to come out?

While Del Rey is looking to begin releasing "bunkobon" reissues that would collect several volumes of manga Del Rey has already put out in single volumes, these are not expected to begin coming out until 2009.

So, I guess that means the B&N exclusives where a test run and did well. And apparently don't count. At least I assume that's what these "bunkobons" are.

August 31st. It's been available for pre-order for quite a while now.

For example, the decision whether or not to include color pages in manga is driven almost entirely by profitability considerations. Printing color pages adds significantly to the cost of printing a volume, so it may only be profitable for a first volume of a series, or for a first edition.

I wonder how a limited edition version with color pages throughout (whatever the original Japanese title had) for a higher price would sell and fit into the economic model (I look at what Dark Horse has done with the re-release of the early volumes of Oh My Goddess). For titles I really like, I'd spring for the limited edition titles with the color pages.
