Dunno. I've watched the Shinbou/Nisioisin collaboration Zaregoto: Kubikiri Cycle, and I think their schtick is getting a little tired. Sometimes beautiful to look at, but tired all the same, so I can't really say I'm looking forward to this.

Shinbou can still do it (March comes in like a lion), but he needs to escapte the rut SHAFT has gotten into with their Nisioisin adaptations.

please don't make the art look like Monogatari

I don't want another Zaregoto adaptation happening where it loses it's personality and becomes wannabe Monogatari

Easily my favorite LN series for a while now, but I don't see it making the leap to anime too gracefully. So much of the appeal is in the narration.
Either way, I don't envy whoever gets stuck translating the 小五郎=小学五年生 pun. I almost want to rebuy the first book in English just to see what they did.

I don't know much about the source material, but I wonder if SHAFT is going to make it like other... not sure what's the term, "bishounen anime"? (I mean like Free!!, Yuri on Ice, A3, etc) and make it appeal to female fans, if not also fujoshi. Especially considering that they've done quite a number of "cute girls" anime with fanservice, which would be interesting if they'd do so.

(I've kinda read some early chapters of the manga adaptation and dnf it since I found them just alright compared to monogatari series/zaregoto)

Maybe this is just me, but I don't find them particuarly pretty... I mean they ARE bishies, and the artstyle is very smooth, but not something that would make me go "he's so pretty i want to cry". I do hope there are more pretty guys in this series though, I'm not actually complaining x)
