Why is the article written like it already happened when it would have been a few hours away from the time of publishing? It really threw me off, I thought I missed something and had to double check the release time (11pm ET).

Not today, but earlier this week it was announced that the movies would be released on CR as weekly episodes with subtitles. Today they announced that it also has a same day dub.

A Canadian dub? I wonder what convinced CR to do that? Well, I'm glad to see Canada coming back to do anime dubs again. Also, Michelle Creber?! As in Apple Bloom from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic?! Hell yeah!

The reverse compilation movie strategy is taking off a lot lately. I find that curious, Demon Slayer and Chikyuugai Shounen Shoujo were two other anime where the film debuted then a tv series reusing footage from the movies premiered.
