I've been liking this series. Although I do wish I knew Japanese, I feel like the puns would be funnier in their native language.

...Okay, I give up. I continue to feel that suffering through tense issues like, "Tanukichi Okuma enters a school... where his personal idol upperclassman Anna is the student body president. There, a perrorist [sic] calling herself 'Blue of the Snowfield' [sic] got hold of his secret, and he ends up becoming a member of SOX" and pure non-translations like, "due to her idolization of ." violates my "civilian rights," but at this point I guess I'll just stop reading the Spotlights.

But yes, "perorisuto" is much more funny, indeed, only makes sense, when it's explained that "perori" means, uh, this. With exactly the subtext you'd expect.

I saw Josh Grelle comment on his FB or Twitter that he is watching this show. I think he would ideal for the lead guy since he has had experience doing shows with outrageous/dark/crude/absurd humor (like DAnime hyper Born and Baka and Test).

I hope FUNImation dubs this one. I-m pretty sure that in English the jokes would land easily and better than in Japanese or English subs.

I'm enjoying this series as much as Cute High Earth Defense Club Love, although the humor is so different between this two series. These two are and have been so far the best comedies of the year.

Eh. I actually liked the crude humor in the first episode but as of now I'm just monitoring the show through the screenshots provided by my twitter feed just in case the show becomes too liberal. From those screenshots I'm currently under the impression that Tanukichi's alter ego is like that of an eccentric professional wrestler.

I don't think that's much of a concern, if anything, the show comes out firmly against excessive political correctness, not that I'm exactly watching the show because I want to see it articulate some kind of coherent political message.

This show proves that 'ecchi' can be smart and have a point. It's no Citizen Kane, but at least it's trying to convey its own message and not just throwing rique content for the otaku audience.

Well, it could be doing that anyway, but at least it's doing it in a smart way.

This show knows that it took the "in your face" approach and takes pride in it. The dialog isn't the sharpest in the drawer, but it is still entertaining.

I have to admit, I was looking forward to this show, but the first two episodes made me consider dropping it, but now, eight in, I'm glad I didn't as this it has become one of my guilty little pleasures each week.
