Mitsudomoe's Norio Sakurai Starts Mini-Series in Weekly Shonen Champion

posted on by Karen Ressler
Rororro! to begin in September

This year's 39th issue of Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion announced on Thursday that Norio Sakurai (Mitsudomoe) will begin a new short series titled Rororro! in the magazine's 44th issue on September 29.

The advertisement for the manga features two girls, and the story description says the manga is about a girl named Chitose who has trouble making friends. The rest of the story description is covered with blanks. In Japanese, the symbol used for a blank (□) is similar to a character for the syllable "ro" (ロ).

Sakurai began her ongoing Mitsudomoe manga in Weekly Shōnen Champion in 2006 and it moved to Bessatsu Shōnen Champion in 2012. Sakurai also draws additional Mitsudomoe stories in her Hobo Shūkan Mitsudomoe (Semi-Weekly Mitsudomoe) manga on Akita Shoten's manga website Champion Tap!.

The manga inspired two television anime seasons, and Crunchyroll has streamed both seasons.
