Crunchyroll announced on Friday that it will stream the anime adaptation of Taizan 5's Takopi's Original Sin (Takopii no Genzai) manga in India on June 28. It will also stream the Chinese-animated series based on the Lord of Mysteries novel in India on the same day.

The streaming service also added the Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu dubs of the Dr. Stone: Ryusui anime special in India on June 11.

Takopi's Original Sin will premiere in Japan on June 28.

Crunchyroll describes the story:

A Happy alien, Takopi, lands on Earth with one mission: to spread happiness! When he meets Shizuka, a lonely fourth grader, he vows to bring back her smile using his magical Happy Gadgets. But as he uncovers the pain in her life, Takopi learns that true happiness may require more than gadgets.

The anime stars Kurumi Mamiya as Takopi and Reina Ueda as Shizuka Kuze. The cast also includes Konomi Kohara as Marina and Anna Nagase as Azuma.

Shinya Iino (director for Dr. Stone, Dr. Stone: Stone Wars) is directing the anime and overseeing the series scripts. Keita Nagahara (key animator for Violet Evergarden, Sound! Euphonium, Sonny Boy) is the character designer. ENISHIYA is producing the work.

Taizan 5 debuted the manga in Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ in December 2021, and ended it in March 2022. Shueisha published the second and final compiled book volume in April 2022. Viz Media licensed the manga, and the series is also available in English on Shueisha's MANGA Plus.

The manga was nominated for the 16th Manga Taisho Awards and the 27th Annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prizes in 2023. The series received the Manga Kingdom Tottori award at the 51st Japan Cartoonists Association Awards in 2022. The manga ranked at #3 in the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook's top 20 manga for male readers list in 2022.
