All One (manga) Weak A one volume bori-fest. So boring.. so repetitive.. so meaningless. so nothing.. Still I read the whole thing and felt like I just got done watching a one episode OVA. That time could've been spent flipping through a Soushi scene in Zettai Kareshi over and over. Jeez, what a waste. I wouldn't turn it down if I recieved the GN for free though ^_^ It's not that bad.
Boy's Next Door (manga) Excellent Okay, funny story, One night I must've been really freakin drunk or something because I tried to explain a little bit of the story (and- ha- one of the most disturbing parts..) to my mom. She freaked the hell out, and since then has proclaimed all "cartoon books" to be evil. *sigh* I can be such a baka.. Anyway, I love this one. Probably because I just love the artist's work ^_^ She is amazing. The best. I have the temptation to rate everything she's drawn and written under excellent, just because I love her. Hehe. Anyway, this incredibly tragic yaoi is beautiful, disturbing, tragic, angsty, and tons more and jeez, it's only one volume. Still, it's a well-told story and I left feeling like I'd seen a movie (no need for anymore.) Basically it's about a serial killer with a tragic childhood who grows up to kill young male prostitutes (...) hey they just happened to be there at the time for him! (...) Anyway by day he's a nice, kindhearted, well-liked teacher. There's a little orphened girl (orphened as he was) that he's particularly fond of. By day that is his true side, but by night he becomes a heartless, evil murderer. But through fateful love he will meet justice.. because soon he sees with his own eyes the life of a young, beautiful, androgenous and seductive fourteen year-old (!!!) boy. They both fall for one another, and leap headfirst into a doomed romance. Of course it's doomed, because fate is waiting for the moment when the man who was once a serial killer can find the ultimate happiness and serene peace.. then destroy it as penance for his sins ^_^ Ah.. you almost feel sorry for him, as disturbed as he was- he would've been able to move on to a peaceful and happy exsistence with his little bish, but.. justice had to be served. Hai. Anyway the imagery is gloomy and traught with disturbance, and the androgynous young manboy is such a bish ^_^ hweel. Anyway, did I mention there is a HUGE TWIST near the end? It totally f-ing surprised me.. anyway, this is hearby my longest review. & I didn't even rate this one as excellent.. ZETTAI KARESHI FOREVER YAH!
Short Program (manga) Decent This one is only one volume. While I know some jerks would like to complain about the artwork- jeez, it was meant to be that way. IT WAS MEANT TO. Not to mention this is an older series- what did you expect? The mangaka and animators (this argument is the same I have torward anime as well) to use a time machine, go forward in time, and see how the present animation and artwork is done, and alter theirs to fit that? IT'S AN IMPOSSIBILITY. Feh. Nevertheless, this series is A O.K. I don't love it, I don't hate it. I know it has some very unique concepts, but I just prefer my others ^_^;;
