I was busy having a busier life than usual; got a bit of free time again now.

If the Chinese-to-baby-talk habit of Trish's is supposed to reflect broken Japanese, so be it, but it still doesn't dismiss the fact that a lot of readers/viewers, including myself, find it incredibly annoying. Yes, it is pretty minor in comparison to her throwing in terrible western slang and even total rewrites where they don't belong, which is why I listed it second in the reasons why I hate her work. I haven't checked out the Eureka Seven light novels she's doing now (mainly because I haven't seen enough of the show to make up my mind about it yet), but I hope that there's an editor there to help keep whatever excesses she might use in check.

As a fellow translator, I thought that was a great article. It's a pity that their wages decreased fourfold in recent decades. I guess it's due to a combination of textless manga pages and a struggling industry.

As a translator I have very few rules:

1. If it sounds awkward or retarded, redo it.

2. Stay as close to the original meaning without reading between the lines for your audience. Most readers will understand the hidden meanings.
