Maybe the culprit committed suicide already. But I definitely disagree with the choice of cancelling further events considering how several months have passed already since the threats.

-_-... Honestly... this guy hasn't made a big "threat" for a while now, and they are still canceling events??!! Just crazy!! Look event people, nothing is making the manga-ka stop, nothing is making the anime production stop, so... don't let these threats get to you anymore!!

What is with the extortionist threatening this Fujimaki guy? Doesn't this guy have better things to do than ruin the life of the "Kuroko's Basketball" creator? And for what? Either this guy's a grade-A sicko or he does this sort of thing for fun. Whoever this guy is,he's a creep. I hope the police find out who this clown is and throws him in prison for a few decades. He deserves it.

Japan could actually learn something from America, for once.

Because the FBI was so effective in the 2001 Anthrax Attacks, right?

We have to wait at least 8 years before we can say something like this.

The anthrax-coated letter had a jihad threat written on it.

In the end, it was an experimental scheme done by an American-born mad scientist.

Japan being a relatively safer country is a double-edged sword: there's less of such crimes as this going on, but because there's less, the J-police doesn't have as much experience with 'em. Pretty much rule of thumb is, J-police is quite efficient when it comes to lower-end crimes, but once it becomes real serious, that's when they tend to trip on their own feet, such as the sad cases of Lucie Blackman murder as well as the captured Ichihashi killer escaping police screwups.

People can't even enjoy what they like anymore without someone trying to ruin it for them. What's this person's problem anyway? It's just a basketball manga. It's not like it's something controversial. Mad

I love how the Japanese police will chase after any pirate at a drop of a hat and have them caught in ten seconds flat but when someone is sending toxic substances and is pretty much out to murder a guy just for making an anime/manga, they're "investigating."

Because tracking an IP over a P2P tracker is easier than tracking an anonymous letter mailed from a random drop box.

That doesn't change the fact that there hasn't been a single lead on this case since freaking JULY. Unless he's a master criminal, this guy must have slipped off in at least one of the 20-ish threat letters he originally deployed. There haven't been any updates on the investigation either, which easily leads to believe that the police isn't even trying.

Edit: OTOH, since nothing has been heard from this guy in ages -I think Winter Comiket was the last to possitively receive threat letters- it would be understandable for the police to let the case go cold. It's incredibly silly to begin with. Which is why it's so infuriating that a dozen of KuroBas events have been cancelled over this idiocy.

"Why is a highway patrol officer not doing investigative work?!" Shit's compartmentalized, yo. Different divisions and different task forces for different crimes. IP enforcement isn't going to be working on violent criminal apprehension.
