Seeing this news made me audibly gasp, followed by an even-more-audible squeal.

I am so ready for this. Might even try to get my group to sub it if it isn't licensed in the US right away.

Ahhh... This makes me happy. I've already bought and read the four translated manga volumes, and I really enjoyed them, so I'm glad there'll be an anime adaptation. Wonder if they'll change the art style (considering the manga has quite a different art style than the Haruhi manga)...

Whenever there was a franchise started with KyoAni and then turned over to someone else, the parts not by KyoAni have always been far worse. Or in the case of FMP, when KyoAni took over it got far better.

"Always"...maybe I'm clueless, but how many times has this happened? Kanon was a remake of a supposedly sucky adaptation, as was FMP apparently. Kiddy Grade is the only thing that appears to be "KyoAni was involved in a thing, then someone else made a terrible sequel." Besides, it doesn't actually say what studio is making this. We probably shouldn't condemn our chickens before we even know what kind of eggs we're looking at.

Well, at least its a spin-off for the HS character I hate the least. Though, in Yuki's case, it helps that she's a clone of Rei Ayanami.

Haven't read this manga except for a chapter or 2. While I'd prefer Season 3 considering how many LNs are now out, I'll take what I can get.

Not sure what to think of this, though.

Well, if they weren't going with a 3rd season yet, at least this is worth the wait for some new Haruhi-related anime.

Wonder if they'll change the character designs, as the manga has the characters drawn differently compared to the regular Haruhi Suzumiya manga?

Anyone else got that warm fuzzy feeling that since it's haruhi they're probably screwing with us again?

Or, maybe they put out haruhi 3 instead of the spinoff to make up for all the getting burnt we got in the past?

Either way, i believe it after the final episode aired. I'll treat it as a rumor for now, could be better for my mental health Razz

I for one hope they do that with the main series so people would shut up about every KyoAni announcement not being a Haruhi/FMP adaptation.

But yeah it will be fun to see some misinformed/self-entitled people run their mouths when this gets handled by other studios.

Regarding which studio would handle this, my best bet would be Ordet.
Kinema Citrus would be a very big surprise too but that's very outlandish guess.

A lot of people seem to prefer a season 3 of Haruhi Suzumiya. I can understand that, and I am indeed following Yen Press's release of the light novels, but if the anime version had to stop somewhere, I thought it did so at a perfect note with the Disappearance film. So I don't really mind that they're adapting a spin-off instead, since it's surprising enough they're still doing another Haruhi title at all.

The Nagato manga is drawn by the same artist who did the Haruhi-chan manga and anime, so I'd imagine they'll get him/her to do it. Personally, it's my favorite style of them all Smile

That's something to look forward to when it gets licensed and dubbed.
