How is this any different from the onnaholes that are apparently recreations of those from famous porn stars? If you're going to punish one woman for making a recreation of her vagina and offering it as a reward for those that support her product, then every porn star should be prosecuted as well for apparently selling recreations of their body part.

You can read it here. As everyone else has pointed out, this law regarding genitalia is ridiculous and outdaded and shouldn't exist in a country that draws much much more objectionnable material on daily basis. Does anyone know if sex toys shaped like the actual things are banned in Japan? |

One of the Attack on Titan assistants went on to try and create her own manga series, and just as it was about to be published, it was taken out of the magazine and discontinued before even the first chapter because someone thought the talking vagina thing was too obscene. The first chapter was then put up online with a note that said, "No more chapters are going to be uploaded online. If you are interested in publishing the work, contact me [...etc.]" The first chapter wasn't about sex, but about a girl who hadn't had her period yet. Feeling behind in her class, she punches her stomach area and her vagina spits out blood and then starts speaking to her. It's... a bizarre first chapter for sure. |

No, which makes her arrest even more ridiculous and arbitrary. When it comes to their obscenity laws, Japan (specifically, certain politicians in Japan) really needs to join the 21st century and accept that there is nothing wrong with adults being able to see uncensored genitalia (nothing is going to happen to "the children"). |

They'll probably never reverse the law because no politician in Japan wants to be seen as that degenerate who wants to make things more perverse. It would probably cause him to get voted out from all of the PTA uproar.

This week in "Things we already knew": Japan is afraid of vaginas.

It only applies to images and digital media, not physical objects, hence all the sex toys, fertility festival ornaments, and cast-off ero-figures can still depict genitalia. Note that she was arrested for distributing the digital files, not the 3D printed vaginas. Here's the supposed rationale behind that distinction: http://www.howagirlfigures.com/2011/07/08/chat-takanori-aki-good-smile-company/
Anyways, I see this kind of increasingly common action as part of the plan to clean up Japan for the coming Olympics, as discussed in an earlier thread: animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2866086 |

So ya can't distribute digital media but can distribute physical media? |

So basically she can just sell her 3D-Printed vagina instead of distributing the digital files to avoid lawsuit? Japan sure has the law upside down. |

The shit's so backwards that Hitomi Tanaka won't even let her genitals be filmed when she does western porn outside of Japan for Scoreland. It's not like you haven't be screwed by multiple guys running the train, but god forbid anyone actually see your vagina unmosaiced. It's like they're so afraid of the law even when they're out of its jurisdiction. It may not even be her choice, it's probably something her Japanese talent agents decide and it eerily reminds me of the whole hentai licensing issue.

Note: all links NSFW! Pretty much, but small correction: that would avoid being arrested, not a lawsuit. I think that was what she was already doing from the article and her home page. Amazon carries these vaginas (as onaholes): http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B00GY3QPH4/ amiami also carries the ero-figures (which was why that question was brought up in the GoodSmile CEO interview I mentioned), like this http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/review?scode=FIGURE-000783&page= - see bottom pics, which still have to be censored since they're hosted in Japan, but you get the idea. So yes, Bible Black the anime is censored, but the figure is uncensored. See also http://nightyoga.blogspot.com/2012/06/very-special-festival-in-japan-penis.html
There are more penis pics on the net for the fertility festivals, but this pic is of the Ogata vagina from: http://www.japaoemfoco.com/hime-no-miya-e-hounen-matsuri-festivais-da-fertilidade/
Yeah it's likely she or her agency feels compelled not to allow pics out. I imagine there's a huge liability issue if some of that makes its way back to Japan uncensored and they can point to a local person or agency. Unless you're up for a revolution, getting arrested and charged is no joke, and it's probably getting worse in the current environment. |
