Haven't seen the aforementioned movies except PR. And What I find wrong with it is that the movie has nothing to offer plot-wise. I'm not asking for a grand story because I know it's a popcorn movie, but that doesn't excuse all of its failings such as a badly written as well as (ungodly) forced romantic subplot, cliched characters and symbolism, and crappy robot designs (amazing compared to Bayformers but that's not saying much). Moreover, the cinematography was a mess almost compared to Michael Bay's where so much debris is falling, the camera keeps moving, and it didn't help that rain was added to the mix. When anyone does cinematography like that, it doesn't give off the impression that they are professional filmmakers as much as appearing to be somehow divorced from any form of professionalism. |

Yeah, I know. I just mean that Kojima is still a well-respected person even if he's on bad terms with Konami. That's how it tends to be with eccentric artists and the companies they work for though. |

I think that Konami are fools to cancel Silent Hills, especially after how much good feedback and hype they got back from it- Are they like morons?? And I was sure to tell them that on twitter- well I didn't call them morons- I just said they were screwing over their fans.
I encourage everyone else to also tweet Konami and tell them what you think of them canceling Silent Hills, who knows it might be enough to make them reconsider their actions and change their mind. |

@Somer-_-:
Universal Studios owning the rights to Oswald the Lucky Rabbit didn't stop Walt Disney from taking his ball and going home; if Kojima ended up too demoralized to take that step, I'm not so sure it would come from not being able to make more Metal Gear games. |

Kojima doesn't WANT to make more Metal Gear games. He said as much. He's said that before in the past about other games, too, but there's a lot of speculation online that he might've put his foot down this time, and Konami refused to renew his contract unless he made more MGS. Whether or not it's true, Konami is really, really screwing up here, particularly since their PR is doing hardly anything to stop how much speculation is going around. I'm upset that Silent Hills is canceled, particularly after experiencing PT (seriously, anyone that has a PS4 or plans to buy one later needs to get on the PSN store and add it to their library before it's pulled, it takes what's worked from the recent indie revival of horror and refined it to perfection--the sound design alone is worth experiencing) although if it was that or Konami trying to take what Kojima and Del Toro had started on and trying to do it without them, I'd much rather it's canceled. I don't trust Konami be able to salvage the series at this point, IMO Kojima was their last chance. Also re: Pacific Rim--if you're judging Del Toro purely on PR, which is actively trying to be a Big Stupid Blockbuster, and haven't seen at LEAST Pan's Labyrinth, you have no idea what Del Toro could've brought to the table in Silent Hills. Del Toro not only really understands horror, he understands a very psychological sort of horror based on more than just gore and jump scares--Pan's Labyrinth is mythic, skin-crawlingly creepy, and horrific most of all because of how it examines HUMAN monstrosity, which is a perfect fit for SH as a series. To top it off, the plot and characters were very, very solid, particularly Ophelia, the protagonist. Seriously, at the very least, check out this clip. Del Toro can be slow, creepy and methodical. He's not all action set-pieces and Godzilla homages. I honestly don't think there's a better collaborator out there that Kojima could've picked. |

I am not satisfied. I really hope that Konami will begin using Los Angeles-based celebrities, actors and comedians in English-language versions of its video games. What do you think? |

In a weird way I'm kinda glad they at least just stepped up and cancelled it outright. Better than letting it go all Last Guardian. Still though, screw Konami. They're the worst.

As of Wednesday (April 29th) it will not be downloadable anymore, but I believe it will still be playable as long as you've downloaded it. Move fast! |
