Doraemon had ears at first (until a mouse chewed them off -- that's where his fear of mice comes from). Also, Doraemon used to be yellow, but after he lost his ears, he cried for 3 days and 3 nights, until the yellow plate covering him fell off. The picture looks remarkably like that first version of Doraemon...except for the clothes. http://www.hero-grp.co.jp/doraety.html Last edited by sacchan on Mon Sep 20, 2004 10:54 pm; edited 2 times in total |

I have an idea. Let's just overthrow the government and create anarchy. That way, none of our anime will be mercilessly maimed or imitated by a bunch of stiffs. After all, the only thing they do is help run the country. It really isn't that important.
Next, we'll burn 4Kids and FUNimation to the ground. Heck, let's nuke every dub studio. There's absolutely no reason our anime should be altered. While we're at it, let's nuke the sub studios, too. We don't need words blocking our anime. All of our anime should be raw, unedited and unadultered so none of those heathens who don't really care about our anime can poison the viewership of our anime. GET WITH REALITY! Whatever happened to free use? |

No, just most of it. I must say, I am growing to hate alot more people these days. I hope someone sues Bush for using Wolfwood in that way, too. That's clearly property theft. Jeez, people tell everyone not to break laws, then they go and do it themselves? Yeah, great job, President A$$clown. |

You're right, it is. And yes, it would be nice. But to paraphrase Chad Kime, 'A Japanese company suing the president of the United States?' |

This would make a great Photoshop contest. I think Sailor Moon is gonna start showing up in some women's lib adds(is there such thing?).

Actually, I would like to meet the guy in the Bush camp that watches Trigun.
And as for the Democratic head of the FCC, he must be from the South. Or Texas... (I'm form TX, so take it easy And that's kinda gross about the whole ears thing. It's like Kimba and Simba all over again! hee hee |

After comparing the two for a while, I have to say that it hardly strikes me as a blatant theft.
The FCC cat has ears, smaller eyes, and a more elongated body as opposed to the mass of circles that is Doraemon. And it's not like Doraemon isn't a pretty generic looking character design to begin with. Sort of a Porky Pig meats Felix the Cat type thing that's been scene a billion times before. |

After looking at the FCC site. It is too close to ignore the fact that it does look very similar to Doremon. I think the company that created Doremon would like a word with the people at the FCC.

But it wasn't Dubya using it, it was the Republican Party (the party he's repersenting). So it's a moot point. |

That thing scared me when it talked.
"HI MY NAME IS BROADBAND" I fear those will be the last words heard before my untimely demise. |

Duh, this happens all the time! Over the years I've seen a CD cover featuring a Gundam with dreadlocks, a Lina Inverse clone advertising cheap internet and an icecream mascot that looked a lot like young Son Goku (...apart from being remodelled into a lion-like thingy).
But the most annoying intellectual theft has to be this: people in Holland are urged to recyle batteries by the aptly named Batteryman... a very obvious Megaman rip-off. He's just about everywhere here... you can't walk into a supermarket/toystore/electronics store without falling over one of these battery recycling cans bearing his image. Needless to say, I hate his tin yellow guts |

That's nothing compared to the food stand advertising a "Dragonball! Super Charged!" at the Bumbershoot music festival this year (I don't have a picture, sorry). The dragon on the sign was very Akira Toriyama, but the guy flying through the air looked more like Magic Boy than Goku. I got the strawberry. It was probably the most powerful dessert I've ever eaten. |

It was probably their advertising or public relations agency or something like that. Still, they represent Dubya (who supposedly approves their massages) and deserve to be punished ! |
