I've only been a serious anime fan for about 2 years so I can't say for certain whether this craze will continue, but since theres a wide variety of anime that caters to different types of audience, I will probably continue watching, but only selecting a few types that interest me, not nearly watching everything thats out
But I have to admit that music plays a really important role for me, I might even watch the anime for its excellent score even though the anime itself doesnt interest me

Will I ever grow out of watching anime? Just as much as I will grow out of watching live-action movies. In other words; absolutely not. I don't see any reason why. I am now 25 years old and I watch more anime than ever. Maybe it's because anime is slowly getting more available or maybe it's because it's getting cheaper. I don't care. I've been interested in all kinds of media all my life and I will continue this way as long as I live (perhaps...).
Sure, my interests have it's "up's" and "down's", but I've never completely left my old obsessions. For example; I used to be a hardcore heavy metal fanatic in the early 90's, and although I don't listen too much to it these days, I've never completely left it. I think the same goes for anime.

I honestly wouldn't know, but judging from what I plan to do later in life, I wouldn't want to although a lot of people want me to. One of the future jobs I'd like to do is to become a manga artist or something along the lines of being involved in the production of an anime. Besides music, art is one of the few things that I'm good at. Plus drawing makes me happy, and one of the things I value in life is getting a job that you're happy with.

Well everyone has their own opinions-so some may say that there is a possible way that they will grow outta watchin anime-but others will love anime for as long as possible. Im only 15-but I still see much older people watchin anime-and Im glad-because it just shows how popular anime is these days. No matter what age or gender-anyone can really like anime-since its for all to enjoy! I think that anime will just get better and better since there is still more anime to come, thats why I think I will never really grow outta watchin anime since its something I truly enjoy.

I can't see me growing out of anime now since I'm over 50 and I've already been watching it for over 35 years In fact, I watch a lot more now than I ever did before.

Well...growing out of anime...yes, I will grow out of anime, just like I grew out of video games.
I used to play any and every video game that I could get my hands on, but now I am very selective of what games I buy. I think that the same will happen with my love for anime and that may be happening now.
In the past I would watch any anime that I could find, but lately I have gotten more picky. If I find an anime that I think is interesting I will research it, read reviews, descriptions, and look for posts on this site related to it. If after all of that, it still sounds interesting, I will buy it.
In conclusion, while I may have grown out of anime as a whole, I still love to watch anime that meets a more selective criteria. I guess I just judge each on it's own merits not as anime, but as a show. If I am not interested, then I wont watch it, but if it's good with a great story, deep and complex characters and interactions, I will watch and enjoy it.

I'm thinking that maybe when I'm 30, I'll sell off most of my DVDs and get rid of most of my downloaded stuff (without selling it) and get out of "the fandom." Maybe if I didn't do so much impulse acquisition, things wouldn't have gotten out of hand. . .

I don't know if I'll ever grow out of anime or not, but I really hope I don't. It's hard for me to find something that really interests me and if it's something that I really really like, I'll become really obessesive over it, like with anime. So for me, anime is more than just a hobby; it's like a big part of my life. I find that I'm not really so interested in a lot of newer anime, but there still is a ton of older series that I haven't seen yet that I really want to, so I think I'll be an anime fan for a long time to come. However, I used to play video games a lot, but recently I've started to grow less interested in them.
I haven't bought any new games in a long time and I really could care less about the latest games or systems that are released. I still have my favorite games that I haven't beaten yet that I try to beat, but I don't really care for video games much anymore, mainly because I'm more interested in anime these days. So, if something comes along that I like more than anime, I might start to lose interest in anime or I might start watching it less, but I'll always have my favorite titles and for now, anime is my favorite interest, so I'll be sticking around the anime world for now.

Liking anime is not odd, childish, or abnormal. You're making it sound like being interested in anime is a bad thing. You're saying what those losers that say anime is for little kids, pedophiles, and geeks say. I'll be damned if I'm gonna call liking anime odd because some Eagles fanatic told his bitchy ugly girlfriend that I was watching Pokemon pornography that time in the cafeteria when I was 18 (I was watching Gundam)

If you don't like people giving you names, how about you stop giving other people names? Whenever you call people "Eagle fanatics" or "bitchy ugly", you pretty much lose all rights to feel better than them.
How does the saying go again? Don't do to others what you don't want onto yourself? Something like that.

I do not think that I will ever really 'grow out' of anime. No matter how old I get, there will always be an anime to appeal. That is why anime and manga tends to be so much better than American cartoons and comics. They come is so many different genres and are made for some many different ages, not just the 'saturday morning shut-that-damn-kid-up' group. I mean, I was an otaku even before I knew I was. I watching Escaflowne, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball and Pokemon at an age when my biggest worry was who put my shoes in the school toilet and what 9 x 9 was (only 4th grade guys, over 8 years ago). I may not follow it as closely as I do now, but I will always be an anime fan at heart.
