Anyway, no mention of Tekken 8?

You mentioned it when it was at Gamescom, and while it had a decent if underwhelming showing there (Arcade Quest just looks a glorified Ghost Battle and WTF are those avatar things.), it had a phenomenal showing at TGS this week. Harada and crew broke down what seems like literally every mode and feature in the game, and I'm very happy to see a greater emphasis on teaching people how to play and giving experienced/dedicated players valuable tools to further hone their skills. (The ability to download and rematch the ghosts of your online opponents is a particularly nice touch. The ghosts can even perform advanced tech like Mishima Electrics and Korean Backdashes! Incredible.)

There are far too many features for me to individually talk about (though someone did an amazing job of condensing it all here) the one that has me the most excited is the return of CGI Character Endings! Yes, the gleeful insanity that is the Tekken CGI Character Endings (of which past ones are lovingly archived in Tekken 7 though it oddly didn't have ones of its own) are back in glorious fashion! It's so devilishly delightful to see them reference Tekken 1's instruction manual by showing off Kazuya strolling through a sprawling sneaker closet that would make even DJ Khaled jealous, and my heart absolutely melted when I saw Best Girl Xiaoyu still chase the dream of building an amusement park in her homeland of China. (Fun Fact: "Dreamland," her ending in Tekken 3, is animated by Production I.G.) I can only imagine what madness is cooked up for the rest of the cast, and hopefully the DLC characters will also get their own endings as well.

Speaking of Best Girl Xiaoyu, she got her own Nendoroid! It's so hard to believe that this is the first one this iconic series, now nearing it's 30th anniversary, has received. But if there's any character that deserves it, it is the bubbly, sweet, and adorably idealistic Xiaoyu. Not only does it look great, but it perfectly represents her personality. She is practically made for the Nendoroid treatment, and I look forward to proudly displaying her on my desk and glancing over to that little smile whenever I need a small burst of sunshine on a given day.

Like, what do you even say to people who might be interested in the game and wanna try the new one? "No, don't play it, they changed a cross into a block, here, track down this 20-year-old copy that costs as much as a used car or pirate it." That's a line of thought I'm not interested in understanding, not after 20 years of waiting for some acknowledgement for Baten Kaitos. Imagine turning your nose up at the Xenoblade remake because they changed Alvis's key into a core crystal. Jeez.

I'd personally tell them to play the original version. There's no real need to settle for low-quality remasters or ports in this day and age. Emulation is very easy to do, especially for Gamecube games. Sure, the original release had censorship too, but it didn't really need to go through the wringer a second time, did it? At least they were transparent about why they removed the English dub by saying it was because they wanted to censor the game again and make tweaks to the English localization for modern audiences so the old dub would no longer fit the script. They let people know ahead of time so they could choose to buy this altered release or not. I think it's totally understandable if people do not want to support a release like that. No one is a better fan just because they blindly consume a product based on brand name alone. I'd argue if people were huge fans of something, they should be upset at such a shoddy treatment the thing they like is getting.

I mean, even if one doesn't care about the censorship, the lack of an English dub is kind of a turn off for many other reasons like accessibility issues. Is that really worth trashing entirely just to tone down or omit parts of the game like Savyna's flashback?

I’d be interested to know what, specifically, has been changed in the Baten Kaitos translation.

I skipped to the training mode section and it appears that you can now program the dummy to do attacks on block or hit. They even show a video of a character sidestepping a button push after the dummy blocks.

This is really all I needed to see since I’ll now have an easy way to lab a bunch of setups and move beyond fishing for random counter hits with death fist or something, so this guarantees a day 1 purchase from me.

Indeed. I still (feel like I) am barely a beginner at Tekken so this will help tremendously. The only thing I've seen so far that gives me mixed feelings is that they have simplified many moves' inputs. On the one hand, it's a nice thought that they want to make the game more accessible and knowing when/where to perform certain moves is still a priority. But on the other hand, execution is also a priority and I can imagine changing the inputs would really throw off experienced players especially those who have been playing for literal decades. But it should also be noted that the video I posted is from the CNT so things might still change in the final release. It would be a really cool compromise if performing those moves with their old inputs could result in buffs to the move such as better frames and/or more damage.

Both Namco X Capcom and Project X Zone are SORELY underrated. Even though PxZ and its sequel were 3DS exclusive, it was then the only platform for such a gonzo idea of THREE competing developers to share their IPs for one of the best crossovers.

The games may be niche for being like Super Robot Wars or Fire Emblem, but when will you ever get to see Ryu, Akira, Jin, heck even Kiryu and Phoenix Wright among so many other characters coexist in a multiversal saga?

Not related, but Kamiya (well before leaving Platinum) regretted shooting down the idea of Bayonetta meeting Dante in the possible 3rd game, it was just another idea that now has Smash Ultimate, or custom character features in Street Fighter 6 or Tekken 8 to leave to our imaginations.

Can you imagine the possibilities if they decide to give it another go, now that so many Capcom, BanNam, SEGA, and Nintendo IPs have had recent or upcoming releases?

Square thinking that they need to focus their entire company on producing AAA games hoping that the next game will hit 10 million sales in a weekend, is the wrong move. They could be spending their time producing small in scope games[mid tier] that at the very least can say they broke even within the first week of sales.

Did that with I’am Setsuna which didn’t do the latter.

To be fair in Namco X Capcom’s case that game never left Japan unlike Project X Zone.

As for the potential of more crossovers involving Capcom, Namco, SEGA, and Nintendo characters, it's always an exciting idea. With the success of Super Smash Bros. and other crossover games, there's certainly a market for such collaborations. However, the possibility of new crossover games like Namco X Capcom or Project X Zone largely depends on the willingness of these companies to collaborate and the financial feasibility of such a project. However, you have to keep yourself entertained with something else besides dogs. I prefer online games, but recently there are problems with the payment method, but recently found information about https://casinosanalyzer.com/online-casinos/paypal best casinos with Paypal and I think that now I will have everything ok. How do you feel about online gaming? With the continued growth of the gaming industry and the popularity of crossover events in various forms, it's not out of the realm of possibility that we might see more collaborations in the future. Fans often enjoy the unexpected interactions and matchups that occur in these crossovers, and the potential for more is certainly exciting for those who love these games.
