As with all lists, we must remember that this is just one person's opinion and not a definitive one. Yes, DMC is awesome, but he might not have heard of DMC or might not like their more 'controversial' lyrics. To each his own.

Regardless, glad to see that someone else loves Fire Bomber as well. My favorite song would have to be Totsugeki Love Heart, followed by Holy Lonely Light. My favorite K-On! song would be Fuwa Fuwa Time. The lyrics are adorable and, in my opinion, there's a certain energy to the song that the other tunes don't have. As for GirlsDeMo, my fave tune would be Crow Song.

I agree DMC should have been on the list, but Fire Bomber is still a great pick for #1. They're the best musical act in the entire Macross franchise and Mylene's my favorite Macross girl.

I agree. I was a little surprised DMC wasn't on the list, but before I finished scrolling through I kept thinking "Fire Bomber better appear on this!"

anyways, I loved Beck. I wish Gonzo could have made more, as it stopped at the where the manga gets really good.
Beck was made by Madhouse, not Gonzo.

@Melanchthon:

Eh. It didn't plagrize anything. Things like that have been around way longer than Code Geass and Angel Beats.

As for the number #1 place;

FIIIIIYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!

also; having Dynamite Explosion as their best song is based on opinion. For me, Totusgeki Love Heart.

As for new poll, Dorothy from Big O (Lethal maid? Check. Copilot of a giant robot? Triple Check.) or possibly Winfield from Demonbane. He's a lethal assassin and has a legion of maids to back him up. Maybe even Thoria from Gravion. Genius mechanic.

I would've liked to have seen Priss and the Replicants up there as well...

Bubblegum Crisis' Streets of Fire homage was one of the most iconic moments in 80's/90's anime to a great deal of people. Thinking back, I'm not sure the band was ever shown again after that opening, and Priss was the only character in the series who was a member of said band, so maybe those would be reasons to omit it from the list. But even so, it set the stage for BGC and the music that permeated the rest of the series, and probably remains the series' most recognized and remembered element to this day.

But that could be said for "God Knows" which made the list. I'm going with this Gia person being too young to know about BGC to list it.

They're not technically a band, are they? None of them play instruments.

I thought about it for a while, and for my maid, I'd want Melba from Galaxy Angel II! She is already part of the military, and has a machine gun on her at all times. When she's not excited about wearing a maid costume and holding a gun at the same time, she is serving tea and is an all-around nice person.

No, but anime, huh... I'd have to say Pierre from Kyouran Kazoku Nikki. I mean, you just give him a name and he takes it! His real name is Akeru Nishikura, though... But he's so nice! And he lives on a deserted tropical island infested with strange beasts!

Gia actually watches a lot of classic anime, as I remember... Don't give her a hard time about. Also, if there were a crap-load of old bands from old anime that no one knew (a lot of people who visit this site are in the newer generation), it wouldn't be as interesting.

No DMC, but the presence of utter dreck like the K-ON band (and using THAT series as a segue to "and now for shows about bands" has to be some kind of satire. That is a show about dull girls eating cake and the band aspect is a thin layer of dry frosting at best)? Especially since the one good moment of K-ON is a brief reference to DMC?

"8 Anime Bands: 8 Random Anime Bands Arranged in No Order Whatsoever".

Title fixed!
