And besides, you can't say with a straight face that that ad didn't pull at your heart strings a little, made you patriotic, made you feel proud that GM is still around, building Corvettes, Camaros, turbo Buick Regals, small-block 350's, and just being awesome.

Same with this Ford Mustang ad. You can't say with a straight face that you can find a better person for that ad than someone who's cooler than anyone that lived, is living, or will live in the future.

It's clever and kinda cool.. but personally I like the old Ford GT superbowl commercial the best out of all so far. It's the least gimmicky, most "pure" car commercial I've seen. IMO would've been better without the narration though.

Now WRT the Turbo Regal... sadly not even remotely like the classic Turbo Buick GN/GNX. And it's driving the wrong wheels. Anyways, I like cars. But all of these ads are really no different from Toyota's Miku Corolla quite frankly. From an objective perspective they are all meritless as they all pretty much rely just on a emotion to appeal to a certain type of audience, not that's anything wrong with that per se

Good point, forgot about the Ford GT one.

Here's a couple recent ones from Dodge that I like.

Has anyone noted how all the good car ads are from American makes here?

Have you heard & seen the NEW Hatsune Miku song "ULTIMATE MIKU WORLD" with American singer Stephanie Yanez @ TinierMe.com yet? It really does feel that Miku will debut in the US!

So in the second longer commercial why is she high pitched screaming. I think these will be web based only commercials like someone else mentioned hulu would be perfect advertising location.

Have you got a better link other than her e-mail address? Wink

I found this on youtube.

So just who is this person, and how did she get connected to Crypton Future Media?
This looks like a "Beckii Cruel" type thing out of this girl's bedroom.
How is that going to introduce the Vocaloids and Hatsune Miku to the US market?

Really, don't see why Hatsune Miku has to be known in order for her to be used in a commercial. Why must we always treat anime differently than live action. Live action commercials don't always use known names or conventions.

People like fresh ideas, new concepts, and humor in their commercials. Perhaps the Hatsune Miku idea will not work out, but that doesn't mean that anime and commercials can't go together in America.

If the commercial is done right, whether anime is included or not, is irrelevant.

Here is some more info:

I found the music video of ULTIMATE MIKU WORLD but it is supposed to be only on this avatar site called TinierMe until May 20th or something like that. Then I heard the song will be on iTunes, Youtube? But someone posted it without permisson.

And I found the press release on Anime News Network here:

animenewsnetwork.com/press-release/2011-04-27/hatsune-miku-is-back-at-tinierme

And here is the American girls website:

@Mikufan: Right, Oookkaay, that....explains a lot. But I have to be honest and say that's not the best use of Miku I've heard. A bit of an own goal by Crypton me thinks.

Sorry to drag this forward again, but I found this report that the group Supercell, what composed "The World Is Mine" used in this commercial, has just released the title as a single in the US. This is the first ever legal release of Hatsune Miku in the US, hopefully it won't be the last, though this is the original Japanese version. The full version of this with subs is linked above on page 4 under "That song" Wink
