YES! YES! YYYYYYES!!!

I knew it was only a matter of time 'till someone picked it up!

It's ADV (a real big surprise) but that's OK!!

OMG!

If there's a place that can pull off a decent dub, I'm sure glad that the VA's of Houston will get that chance!

Now I WILL finally get to fulfill my promise to buy this series!

Interesting to note these H-game or just ecchi game-based animes all have had titles that were done by Toei. Good old Toei doing work based off of porno games? To quote dub Naruto, "Believe it!".

By the way, scroll up to see which "icing on the cake" we will get this summer. Wink

... can't... read a thing...

In any case... does the Layla Hamilton OAV you guys get come with subs?

(I'm assuming no... since Hanada Shonen Shi didn't come with subs... at least, what I saw over at Yesasia.com didn't come with subs)

If not, I might as well go with the R2... ahhhh... why didn't ADV do this? Didn't they help co-produce a part of the series or something? (or was that a lie?)

It would be an act of god, but I would really love for it NOT to be DUBBED. If they pulled a Supergals 2 and just forget dubbing it, I would be the happiest Key fan out there.

Huh?

Doesn't ADV need to actually SELL this?

(but then, who knows? maybe it'll sell without one... like... doesn't this thing only have like a hardcore anime following?)

I'm very happy for all the fans of this series. I do have it available to watch but I never got around to it, but if I enjoy it I will definitely buy a dub if one is available.

Yay for Air fans! *waves sparklers*

Air has made it big and popular WITHOUT a dub. I think it would do extremely well without one. I would hate to hear Hilary Haag as Misuzu, no offense.

But, without a dub, don't you kinda lock out a part of the market?

Wouldn't you want this thing to be even more popular?

Well, whatever...

Or you could just you know, switch over to the Japanese language track. Is it really that difficult or do all these elitist snobs feel like they're too superior to switch languages or something? Rolling Eyes

Thanks for the link. I'd say the most reasonable way would be three discs for 12 regular episodes (four each), and one last disc for the recap and two special episodes, making a 4-4-4-3 release, and those who have no interest in the summer special can omit the final disc.

Ah, that makes sense. Knew I forgot an obvious option (maybe a bit too focused on them not releasing it "seperately"). The cynic in me tells me that ADV won't go that path, but that part of me has been thankfully wrong before.

Oh, and more good news:

Toss is good packaging, good presentation with the DVDs, and a sturdy box, and I'm completely sold.

Even with niche crowds English dubs are demanded to be there frequently. With the response to Bandai Visual USA adopting a "no dubbing except on rare occassions" (read: once in a blue moon) it would be easy to say that ADV would lose customers were they to do that. Would enough come back to buy it as they would be saving a good deal of money by not dubbing it? Dunno. I know I would since if I like something enough I'm going to buy it (hence why I've already got Gunbuster 2 waiting for me, and The Wings of Honneamise which absolutely deserves the best treatment that they could give, namely what happened with the first two Patlabor movies).

But all of that aside, it's ridiculous to say "I DON'T WANT A DUB." Hey, if you don't want to hear English, you can switch the Japanese with subtitles, yanno.

Sure, it would be great for it to be popular, but it is ADV, so it would never get as popular as to being on Adult Swim. Others might want a dub, but i cannot hear anyone in ADV saying Gao, or fulfilling the true scream and feelings of Haruko. I will say it now, the dub WILL be horrible. I will still buy it though, seeing how Air is my all time favorite anime.

Yeah... what Hellkorn said... that and... if this doesn't sell good, we might not get Kanon 2006, which... you know, I wanna see as well.

I love how you're apparently so racist that you think only the Japanese can pronounce a made-up word that has no meaning in English correctly and that you've already predicted the dub to fail before they've even announced the voice cast or whether they're even going to dub it at all. This is why I hate elitists.

Okay, so it won't be as popular as, say, Shin-chan on adult swim...

But still... this show REALLY needs to sell as much as possible...

Again... I want to see Kanon 2006.

Racist? I love dubs, but Air is just one that will be so hard to dub, it is jsut not visible to being done so by me. If Geneon's cast got it, I would see atleast SOME hope, but ADV, no one in that cast will pull anyone off.

Sure, I want to see Kanon 2006 in the states too, but my same problem will come out. The companies show little to no feeling with their hired VAs.
