I'm looking at my Bakuten Starter box right here and they list dvds 2-6 + OVA Special as coming soon.

So it's been offical at least since the start of May.

When i saw this artical it felt funny like i had heard it somewhere else, then i checked and found where i had seen it.

Oooh, so it's like they must've knew all the time it seems. Well, at least they aren't trying to stretch it out. Makes sense 6 vol. at 4 ep. a piece that's a total of 24.

Y'know I might start buying separately than purchase all together. There are just some things you just can't pass up. Smile

I wasted my time on this anime about a year ago. In my opinion is the worst anime ever made by Gonzo...The story is stupid, the characters are plain, the music is bad... the only good thing is the animation (its Gonzo after all)...

So, i wouldn't recommend it to any serious fan, but if you like crazy girls with no brain that love to shoot the hell out of anyone... yeah you probably will enjoy this...as you probably would enjoy the demolition rallies and the wwf...

eh *shrugs* to think i'm in it for the romance

Believe me, my expectations were trashed. Now with the manga in hand, I'm happy to be a fan.

I didn't know there was a manga. I've seen no mention of one. If it makes this series watchable, I might have to check it out.

I watched up to 11 episodes(I think I even skipped one unknowingly), I got frustrated in that it seemed to go nowhere. Great character art and visuals(sans some shoddy CG work), cliche characters and boring storyline. That, and some things were below my taste IIRC. I'm told that around the time most people give up on it, it starts getting better. Something about loosely tieing all the episodes together.

I really wanted to like this thing...

Forgive my necroposting, but this kind of 'high and mightyness' trash talk just chafes me to no end.

If you are a 'serious' fan of anime of mecha/action/fanservice, why wouldn't you like this show? Of the four 'girls', IMO, Meg was the only one that was over-dependent and lacking in gray matter.

I'm looking forward to the OVA and I recommend the TV series as well.

Perhaps if you took it in context with the rest of the post, you'd find that it's basically saying that you won't find anything here that you haven't found done much better elsewhere.

There's really nothing great about the show aside from the character designs. The CG was awful too.

Well, taking the series as a whole it was worth my while. It is true that it does get better towards the end. As for the CG, I didn't see any problems with it; then again, I am a far cry from being a perfectionist.

I've actually been interested in this series since I finished up Gunslinger Girl. I think I'm gonna wait for it to become more affordable though because I have to manage my money well since I'm in High School. I'm hoping for a release similar to what Bandai did with s-CRY-ed, ADV with Saiyuki, but most importantly what FUNimation did with Kiddy Grade, TMGXP and is planning to do with Yu Yu Hakusho... which is releasing one volume, containing 2 DVD volumes for the price of one.

Or I hope they go straight to the price of the most recent Blue Gender Box Set, I believe all 26 episodes are available at Best Buy for around $50.

I know little about retailing, but my guess would be it's 50-50. FUNimation may hold out on a rerelease due to the OVA is still awaiting release; or they may rerelease due to the art box set is full. It's strange (I checked it out on mine once I heard about it) that they would mention the OVA on the art box but not leave space for it within...
