Same battley-type song in Kenshin and Slayers?

This was spurred by ayamacha's thread...

I don't know if I'm hearing things right but I think there's a battlely-type song that shows up in Rurouni Kenshin and also in Slayers...it's like an ominous synthesizer type sounding tune.

The song in Kenshin gets played mostly during the pirate episodes that happen right before the Kyoto arc. The same song shows up in Slayers...during random battles. Is it the same song? If so, what's the name?
