I wonder if he knew about the Asuka/Rei life-sized figures I read about many years ago. They were made to order, at $6000 a pop.

I don't think he's picky at all, actually. Megumi is good taste.... Rem is overrated. But it just kinda looks like he buys anything he can get his hands on

I scrolled through his Twitter for a while... and really I just wanna eat all that delicious looking food  I wish I could find places that had food like that.
Kinda wonder how much his figure collection cost altogether, though.

Some might think this is a waste of money but really it's no different than all the other random ass pieces of art that people spend money on. They serve no purpose but to look aesthetically pleasing and sex aside I think these are well crafted figures.
I think the figure is something that would fit well in an anime shop or something.

Or, here is a crazy idea the, guy might actually be a fan of both series and liked both the figures. I mean he could have just went mainstream and got life size figures of the Oriemo cast (Especially Ayase), now that would be just buying whatever is popular.

Google "Dollfie Dream" and you'll get a lot of results, but chances are you're looking at $1000+ in most cases. The doll hobby can be insanely (and deceptively) expensive! There are cheaper doll alternatives out there, but it really depends on what kind of style you're looking for. Google "ball jointed dolls" and you'll see hundreds of different options, some are more anime-esque but most lean more towards realistic faces.

Detolf cabinets are great though. Besides, if they work and they're cheap, it just means more money towards stuff to go inside them!
