Great news. I'm still hoping that Discotek will pick up Baoh, Legend of Black Heaven, They Were 11, Genocyber, Call Me Tonight, Neo Tokyo and Satoshi Kon's out of print titles. Having them release Kaiji would be cool too since we have the upcoming Tonegawa anime spin off coming out.

Discotek should also include One Outs, Rainbow, Hyouge Mono, Kingdom and Nobunaga Concerto on the list as well. Or what about the few manga adaptations from Shogakukan that aired on TV Tokyo during the 2000s?

I'm still waiting for them to pick up Musumet though.

The 13-episode television anime from 2003 was a remake of the 1989 OVA Majū Sensen, which was itself an adaptation of Ken Ishikawa's 1970's manga series of the same name.

A slight correction, mainly because I've made the same mistake, but this TV series is a (possibly alternate universe?) sequel to Ishikawa's original manga, or at least the OVA, as it takes place a few years afterwards.

Anyway, while I don't have any vested interest in Eternal Alice, I am happy to see Beast Fighter be given an official release, finally. Sure, it's nothing especially amazing, but it's still absolutely bonkers & insane in the way only Ken Ishikawa (& Go Nagai) could deliver. Also, I'm happy to have the chance to rewatch the show with good subtitles, as the best we had before were rips of bootleg Hong Kong DVD subtitles.

What I'm most happy, though, is to see Discotek continuing to pillage the catalog vault of Enoki Films, especially for the stuff that never saw release here before, because eventually the company will have no choice but to finally license stuff like Acrobunch, Jibaku-kun, or even the J9 Series, which are all with Enoki.

I for one am glad to see Eternal Alice make it over here, as it's the last Kaishaku adaptation that had never been released in R1. (Not counting Steel Angel Kurumi Zero, anyway.) Hope to see Discotek pick up more of these mid-00s "Type B" titles in the future.

EDIT:
DVD releases, though? I'd thought Discotek was making the switch to SDBD for these "no HD materials available" types of shows. After all, 13 eps on 1 SDBD is going to be an improvement over 6-7 eps on a DVD.

Eternal Alice was alright at the time not sure I'd want to buy it now though. On the plus said if something like Eternal Alice can get licensed there is still hope for Da Capo season 1.

Would love something like Discotek to pick up Black Heaven, too.

Also nice to see another Kaishaku property getting licensed, too.
Maybe we'll see Kurumi or Taruto, next?

Manabi Straight
Minami-ke (all seasons and OVAs)
Seitokai Yakuindomo (All seasons, OVAs, and movie)
They Are My Noble Masters

Here's a funny thought: spoiler[Kodomo no Jikan]

While I am happy that Discotek specializes in obscure anime licenses and license rescuing older anime titles, I don't get why their site doesn't have a streaming option for a lot of their catalog (at least 50%). My guess is they are not big enough of a company for that extra expense or much of the licensing agreement doesn't allow for streaming on their site.

Cutie Honey Flash when?
Also, Sensual Phrase is a great series so that would be nice too.
