Well, while you're at it, you sanctimonious Australian prick, why don't you call for a ban of that overrated HBO medieval snuff show where real, not drawn , innocent children are thrown out of windows by cowards who want to avoid taking responsibility for being caught committing incest, or viciously raped onscreen to consolidate political power while watched by a gutless crying manservant?

That medieval child-torture crap sure sounds like "child exploiting snuff fetish" to me, or is it excusable because it is scribbled by fellow white man George RR Martin, rather than an easy target like Hiro Kanzaki, an Asian who writes heartwarming and chaste stories with harmless fanservice?

The Doulbe-Standards of Australia therefore seem to be:

Snuff crap starring medieval scumbags where flesh and blood children are raped murderered and thrown out of windows, but scribbled by an old white neckbeard: "Oh Masterpeice! Oh sacred savior of modern literature!

Heartwarming and funny stories where awkward but fundamentally decent drawn teens discover love and try to understand their own awakening sexuality, but written by an Asian? "OH! Heresy! Pornography! Burn at the stake!"

That sanctimonious politician has more than likely not even seen more than ONE episode, much less all 12 of Eromanga Sensei, and hence like all Anime haters has no god-damned right whatsoever to judge any of us, that hellfire-worthy scumbag Asian-hater.

I'm wonder will one of Republicans complains of "sexualizing" minors in animes and compares animes to "child porn"? Will it ever happen? Just curious.

I’ve kinda always been surprised by how lenient the classification board has been towards smutty anime. I don’t see this going anywhere though. I mean... who on earth is this guy?

What on earth is a ‘centrist party’ in Australia anyway? In a country where the two major parties are just ‘hard right’ and ‘soft right’?

This is the same country that will throw you in the jail just for owning a sex doll that looks like a loli...

The full speech is here. Note that he wants to outright ban four titles which have already received M15+ and MA15+ classifications in this country, and a review of ALL Japanese animation currently available in Australia. Plus the whole conflating child exploitation material with titles freely available in shops here... I know he's an ineffectual Senator in an even more ineffectual and useless minor party, but the entire speech was something else.

There's way worse obviously unless you're new or very casual with anime to know, but Eromanga Sensei is the anime that recently made me renew the wondering if pedophilia equals evil by default. You know as difficult as that question sounds. It's a mental illness no doubt, but *evil*?

In my mind, there's no excuse or whatever shit people come up with: The staff behind the production of animating shows like this or similar are pedophiles (they had to animate it with their conscience open after all). If you think something along the lines of "Sagiri is hot" or did something inappropriate to some loli depiction, you're a paedo. But lolicon culture its so ingrained into anime from the dawn of time that I became so desensitized to this by now and even view it all sarcastically than "serious business."

All I really ask myself now is unless someone has harmed real people, what are the limits to these psychological issues and fetishes and how they can be protected by the logic of fiction? Like on a worse note, if someone enjoys *guro* but hasn't harmed anyone real, is it fine to let that person keep walking free?

While a good point about the hypocrisy of allowing Game of Thrones while objecting to more harmless anime, just a reminder that Game of Thrones also suffered from the same effect of getting a live action that many anime do, Hollywood can't follow the source material to save their lives. While, yes, some is from the books, the directors and writers changed material to match what they thought should happen and made scenes more graphic than in the books. Like even George R. R. Martin didn't like what they did with the tv series.

The full text was posted by Kotaku (edit: also linked above), the senator also picks on Sword Art Online, No Game No Life, and common fanservice scenes:
Quote:
high school girls are at a swimming pool and one of the girls indecently assaults another character by repeatedly squeezing her breasts

So basically he’s saying a huge chunk of all anime ever produced should be banned.

That comedic and harmless scene was the "henious" evidence that racist sack of S#&t chose to attack "Sword Art Online" with? He clearly (1) has not watched the Entire First Season (2) will have a heart attack if he saw what Sugou/Oberon did to poor Asuna!

But even if he did watch the whole series, he would not cite Sugou assaulting Asuna because the CONCLUSION of that scene, wherein Asuan's Husband Kirito chops Oberon/Sugou into screaming-confetti, shows that Japanese People, unlike George RR Martin worshipers, are as-a-whole Decent Human Beings who detest , NOT cheer-for, rapists, and like to see them bloodily punished.

Warping a comedic groping scene out of context is easier, after all, when you want to smear an entire culture and race as drooling rape obsessed monsters.

Then again, this IS the same country that allowed an Asian-hating wh@re called Pauline Hanson to establish the "One Nation Party", which seeks to obliterate ALL non-Anglo-Saxon culture from Australia, and let her hold seat in Parliament for the last 26 f#@%ing years.

That scumbag's argument just might gain support in that Parliament of knuckle-dragging Asian-hating cavemen, unfortunately.

I did kind of cherry-pick the example there. He also mentioned the Asuna/Sugou thing. While it’s distasteful, its a part of the story and it is what it is. I don’t see how banning this stuff will do anything productive.

Yeah, they changed a lot from the books. In regards to this topic, they aged up a lot of the younger characters for the show. Plus the show is in real-time and you can't halt actors aging so they had to adapt to that. For reference, Arya is 11 years old in the most recent book. The show purposely went out of it's way to age up the younger characters to at least teenagers and they also aged up to adults over the course of the show. Game of Thrones did not get a pass at all. Most of Hollywood doesn't want that kind of stuff in mainstream works. There's a reason that one scene in the It books has never made it into any of the adaptions.

It's not really a Left or Right issue. Both sides can be prudes and you can find them calling loli child porn.

Yes, it is fine to let that person walk free. There are some people who haven't watched guro or anything related to underage media and STILL have harmed people. If you don't know how to separate fiction and reality (such as yourself since you keep seeing actual """children""" when its just a drawing) then they shouldn't get into anime/manga. Heck, a lot of media too.

There have been people who even write on this site who have made top number lists and has incest and underage characters to say it was okay. One saying "the incest ship is fine because he treats the main protag with respect. As someone who doesn't mind loli and shota content, I have NEVER once wanted to do anything to someone under the age. I don't want to do anything with anyone in any sort of manner. You call them pedos (which throwing the word so easily makes it less serious to take each time) without learning what type of person are they.

I am a proud feminist and I hear so many people say about stereotypical "feminazi". Many of those so-called "feminists" have ruined the word yet I am still standing by it because I know not every feminist is like that. To assume what type of person they are because of what they like is downright categorizing and seeing as your own way of being "self-righteous" in thinking how you can say what is right/wrong without anyone else giving an opinion. To be frank, people who call those who like lolis/shotas "pedos" are those who will never grow up by how they are too stubborn to make mistakes and listen to other people. How only they are only right.

Am I take this seriously? I admit, I am. But I am also annoyed because those act like saints or did nothing wrong when we all like something that would be looked down. The difference is actually when we hurt someone. That is where I can agree. Those animators worked hard so calling every single one of them is a pedo is harsh too....
