Watched this blind out of boredom cause the kid had a weird eye design. Was surprised by how much I liked this show. I cried more than once and went back for more. Can't wait for season 2.

My husband and I enjoyed the show. The back to the basics simplicity sold the show. I know tropes and fan service drive the animation/manga/light novel business, but Kotaro’s characters and raw emotional storyline brings fulfillment.

One of the best shows of the year in my opinion, and another I think would get a bigger reaction with a weekly simulcast rather than an unceremonious Netflix dump. I wish a US company would pick up the manga, because I'm dying to see the rest of the story.

I really liked the show but the designs can definitely be offputting. My sister was gonna watch it with me but she was creeped out by Kotaro's design and decided not to.

I never thought I would love this show so much. Watched it after the trailer on Netflix piqued my interest because I'm a sucker for found family stories. Agree that a weekly streaming experience would have been better. The material is a bit too heavy and repetitive to be consumed all at once. But still this was in my top 3 anime this year. I love you Kotaro my small cute child!!
