The latest PV looks pretty solid but I wonder if the quality can be maintained for the entire run. I do appreciate the art style staying much closer to the manga art. If this ends up being a success I would love to see a modern remake of Yu Yu Hakusho.

Is Kenshin's Kyoto Arc the most adapted manga storyline of all time? This new anime will mark the fourth time it's been adapted for the screen. That's bananas.

Rurouni Kenshin has featured trans/crossdressing people before and the mangaka haven't said anything about trans rights, so in this instance you're barking up the wrong tree.

Also, reported, for your this post here, and about your other posts in the other threads, as well as about your avatar.

I think the trans character was created actually by Eiichiro Oda as by that time he was his assistant. The Jinchu arc also makes a reference to One Piece when Sanosuke finds a bomb with the Strawhat symbol.

I’m extremely excited for the series. RuroKen is one of my all time favorite manga.

I don't think that a Yu Yu Hakusho remake is necessary but I would watch a new Anime with the quality of the 2018 OVA.

I have been re-watching the original on Hulu and some of it holds up well. There is a general inconsistency though that I wish was cleaned up. Also pacing issues here and there. Maybe they could even have Togashi involved to modify/expand on the last arc.

Looks pretty solid and the designs feel even more true to the manga!

I hope this is a good adaption.

I didn't read the Manga, but from what I heard, the last arc in the Anime already expanded some things.

Despite being a complete remake, this shouldn't be a continuous run so the quality should be fine if they have the right amount of breaks. It's going to be a long journey, but glad to see the designs hold up.

They definitely went for a Takeru Sato approach for Kenshin, which is good with me.

Yeah, the movements and tone feel more Satoh's Kenshin than Vanilla Kenshin especially with the lack of gags

I don't really mind a remake of this series, but it's still asinine how Watsuki was forgiven by the manga industry.

I remain skeptical just based on the relative obscurity of the studio. I know that doesn't really stand for much since most animation is freelance, but it seems like this is their first real big-name project. I'll wait to see how the spoiler[Jinei stuff] and the fights surrounding spoiler[Aoshi and his gang] are handled before making a firm judgement call, I think. Despite its age and limited budget, the original anime had a strong sense of spectacle when it cared to flex its creative muscles, and I don't often see that kind of artistic risk taken in modern anime.

I'm looking forward to this. I wonder if it'll get a dub though. A lot of us have strong opinions on the author's misdeeds and I get the feeling it might end up like Interspecies Reviewers and avoid being dubbed out of distaste.

On the note of Yu Yu Hakusho though, how often do we see a remake of an anime that already got a full adaptation? The manga was basically entirely covered already. I think with the exception of Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Japan doesn't tend to readapt things.
