Hibi Rock Music Manga Ends This Month

Manga by Katsumasa Enokiya inspired live-action film last year

This year's 11th issue of Shueisha's Young Jump magazine is announcing on Thursday that Katsumasa Enokiya's Hibi Rock (Days Rock) manga will end in the magazine's 12th issue, which will be released in Japan on February 19.

The original manga revolves around Takurō Hibinuma, a third-year in high school. He is a boy who gets bullied, and has no talent in studying or sports, but the only thing he can call his own is "rock." He experiences many things through music, and aims to become a rock star.

Enokiya began his series in 2010. The manga received a nomination for the 5th Manga Taisho awards in 2011. Shueisha will ship the sixth compiled volume in Japan in March. The manga inspired a live-action film adaptation that premiered last year.
