Live-Action Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw Film's Trailer Shows Main Cast

Adaptation of Rei Mikamoto manga premieres in Japan on March 5

The official website for the live-action film of Rei Mikamoto's Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw manga began streaming a trailer for the film on Tuesday. The trailer shows the film's main cast.

The film will be screened in the Mitaiken Zone no Eiga-tachi 2015 film festival at the Human Trust Cinema Shibuya on February 20, before opening nationwide on March 5.

The cast includes:

Rio Uchida as Geeko Nokomura

Mari Yaachi as Nero Aoi

Seira Satō as Sayuri Bakutani

Yuki Tamaki as Hanzō

The original manga centers around Geeko Nokomura, who is in a lone struggle to confront her classmate Nero Aoi, who has turned all of their classmates into zombies. To get to her, Geeko cuts down all of her former classmates.

Hiroki Yamaguchi (Messiah, Gusha no Binzume) will direct the film, and Mitsunori Fukuhara (Ofukō-san, Teen Court) will write the script.

Mikamoto launched the manga in Kadokawa's Comic Beam magazine in 2009. Kadokawa published the manga's 10th compiled book volume on September 26.

Dark Horse Comics published the first six volumes of Mikamoto's Reiko the Zombie Shop manga in North America. Reiko the Zombie Shop was adapted into a three-part live-action video series in 2004. Mikamoto's Kyonyū Dragon manga was also also adaptated into a live-action movie in 2010. Funimation released the film in North America in 2011.
