Urano serialized the classic volleyball manga Attack No. 1 in Margaret magazine from 1968 to 1970. It was adapted into a television anime in 1969-1971, and a live-action drama series in 2005. A remake of the manga by Kanon Ozawa ran in Margaret in 2004-2005 under the title Shin Attack No. 1 (New Attack No. 1). The manga also inspired a short comedy collaboration manga with the All-Japan Women's Volleyball team in 2013.
