Akira (movie) So-so I need to see this movie again perhaps. That or read the manga. Because every time I think about this movie in my head I question it and I think it needs further review. I also keep getting more insight into the movie from others which I am taking to heart.
Azumanga Daioh (TV) Excellent
Baki the Grappler (TV) Good There is a story in this series and it's okay. But you watch this for the action and to see Baki kick some ass. First season is good, don't know much about the second, and never seen the movie.
Berserk (TV 1997) Masterpiece Berserk is like very much like viking sagas(except that it is Japanese). Blood and guts. The animation really helped to capitulate the feel of this series. This is a classic.
Castle in the Sky (movie) Masterpiece
Cowboy Bebop (TV) Very good
Crayon Shin-chan: Arashi o Yobu Mōretsu! Otona Teikoku no Gyakushū (movie 9) Bad This anime may have had a good story. If it did, I just couldn't tell because the charachters were so annoying to listen to and look at. This anime was purposefully drawn badly. I don't know why that is so. It is very hard on the eyes.
Dead Leaves (OAV) Weak
Full Metal Panic! (TV) Very good
Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid (TV) Excellent Great new characters, great action, and worthwhile cg in one series.
Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu (TV) Masterpiece The sequel to FMP! Masterpiece. Purely comedic and I have no guff with that. Souske's antics are never out of style, can't wait for the Second Raid.
Fullmetal Alchemist (TV) Masterpiece No holding back, this series is a masterpiece and I'm happy to have watched it. I was skeptical with it being of Cartoon Network but I see how unfound those thoughts are. Good plot, charachters, situation, and room for a sequel to finish it off. I can't wait for the movie.
Fullmetal Alchemist: The Movie - Conqueror of Shamballa Very good
Grave of the Fireflies (movie) Excellent Very depressing movie about two children struggling to survive after losing their parents and having no family to truly care for them. Saddening circumstances.
GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka (TV) Excellent
Hajime no Ippo (TV)
Howl's Moving Castle (movie) Good
INTERSTELLA 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem (movie) Excellent Fucking insane.
Jin-Roh - The Wolf Brigade (movie) Good I'm sort of confused by this movie. The finite details to the end of this movie are cloudy for me.
Kiki's Delivery Service (movie) Good I'm partial to this movie because it is set in France. It is very similar to My Neighbor Totoro in that it is meant for young children and nothing really happens in it. Well, nothing of interest to people who are older.
Love Hina (TV) Not really good Seriously...What's up with the whole Love Hina obsession with everyone? I mean c'mon. Give it up and watch something different for once. But in honesty this series is o.k. at best.
Love Hina Again (OAV) Not really good Very good, watch it if you've seen Love Hina. Definitly a step up from the series I would say. A lot funnier, better, etc. That's all.
Love Hina Spring Special - I Wish Your Dream Not really good Ibid.
Love Hina X'mas Special - Silent Eve Not really good By now you're probably wondering, if I said I didn't like Love Hina why did I seek out everything about it? And all I can say in response is....
Millennium Actress (movie) Excellent
Mobile Suit Gundam (TV) Very good
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed (TV) Masterpiece
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny (TV) Good Good followup. Got anoying, got better, did a whole bunch of turnarounds. It's not essential to watch following Gundam Seed but you may enjoy it.
My Neighbor Totoro (movie) Good These movies delves deep into the realm of imagination. And there is nothing wrong with that. It's one of those movies that brings out your inner child. The story is of two girls who befriend a giant fuzzy animal who helps them in times of need. Another chapter in the Miyazaki legacy.
Neon Genesis Evangelion (TV) Good I don't think this is worth killing yourself over like some people like to do. But it's definitly a good watch. I have yet to see The End of Evangelion movie which I hope as people say, is the better ending to the series.
One Piece: The Movie Not really good Mixed feelings on this one. It's One Piece so you got to watch it, but I don't think it's all that great. This reminded me of when I first starting watching One Piece and it wasn't good yet and I wasn't interested yet.
Paranoia Agent (TV) Decent Just what I expect from Satoshi Kon. But, I think he should stick to movies.
Perfect Blue (movie) Very good A psychological thrill ride about a pop singer who leaves her group and is then stalked by a derranged fan. Very good movie.
Porco Rosso (movie) Excellent Very funny movie. The main charachter is a pig man! Excellent Miyazki movie.
Princess Mononoke (movie) Masterpiece I loved the action and story in this one. Ashitaka protects his village from a derranged demon. He is scarred with a life threatening ailment. He fights to protect the forest and fight to save himself. He struggles against apathetic humans concerned for only themselves.
Rumbling Hearts (TV) Worst ever Don't let the hype get to you. This series sucks. But I understad I'm not really going to change peoples opinions. The charachters suck, they are not unique, they are not anything. They were good to start off with but just took a nosedive after the second episode. So we have two episode of stuff going on, romance, car accident, girl in coma for 3 years what not. Then ten episodes of the same thing, nothing. Then girl wakes up for good and then resolution. Really bad people, trust me.
Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal (OAV) Good I really only liked the first episode. I liked the action and the story that it followed. I think the latter is not very good. I want to see Kenshin fight not farm. I understand he is a ruthless killer turned around but it was borring, but I guess it had a good message and lead up to Rurouni Kension the series.
Samurai Champloo (TV) Excellent Good samurai action here and who doesn't love that? That's right, nobody, so it's a win. It's a new series so it has some cg elements to go along with its drawn animation to make it look excellent. The set up is like that of Cowboy Bebop, seeing as it's from the same director. The strength of this anime is in single or two-three episodes at a time, not a long story that progresses until the final climax. The main part of the story just lingers alon until the end.
Serial Experiments Lain (TV) Not really good This one left me questioning a lot about the series. Very confusing and slow. If you watch it and are in to sci-fi and such, pay attention!
Spirited Away (movie) Masterpiece I don't really rate movies as in the best per se, but yes, it is in my top 5 favorite movie anime or not.
(The) Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? (movie) Very good Let me put it this way, yea, I remember love.
Tokyo Godfathers (movie) Good Eh, this wasn't a terribly interesting movie like I may have expected. The story of a commune of three homeless people who stumble upon an abandoned baby and hope to find its parents. Just not my thing I guess.
Whisper of the Heart (movie) Excellent
